[UO Herald] Housing Decay Reactivated in 2012 (reposted from Uhall)

We expect to have housing decay turned on by the beginning of next year. We are going to start giving everyone a warning, this being the first of several you will see. Please take the necessary steps to secure your house before its turned back on.

Sorry to interrupt the "discussion" on whether or not we should like people who pick up stuff off the virtual ground but...

Does anyone know if it will be 90 days from the day it is turned back on, or 90 days from last payment received unless it's been more than 90 days in which case the houses will be instantly in decay or what?

To answer your question Flutter and the best guess I can give you is no. The answer now is very vague. They did say they would make further announcements ( warnings ) before it happens.

Hopefully one of the devs will "CLARIFY" instead of keep the player base guessing. Yes this comment is directed to the devs and Jeff to get a crystal clear answer.

Twitter is just easier to reach me. It goes directly to me, no sifting through threads. Forums require more effort to find the questions. Don't worry I'll continue to pop my head in every week, but it just means you might have to wait a few days for me to chime in.

As for the answer to the question. Unentitled accounts over 90 days when we reactivate house decay will start the house decay process. Players will have 5 days to re-entitle their accounts to prevent their houses from falling. We'll be posting more details like this in upcoming reminders about us turning the system back on in future herald posts.

Did they ever fix their accounting system? one of my accounts wont take credit card info. Even though it has a 15k available balance on the card. and it used on one of my other accounts.

I think their new account system will be ever buggy. Have you called UO to have them look at it?

LOL cant wait Uhall is gonna just be flooded with whining players that should have paid attention and if your not gonna pay attention at least pay for your accounts..

As by my post of this years House Census required my exploration of every house upon Siege Perilous, I take notice of states of decay.

One such house was a small house owned by Otis. It proceeded to IDOC last Thursday morning at 11AM CST. No other houses were in decay.

OOO I can also take the fertile dirt. Im always growing plants. I found out the fertile dirt can be used in the planting beds. Ill meet with you in game to get the stuff.

hehe ya do not have to find me in game. I took a chest over to GIL loot house for ya with seeds, some plants, the idoc potions and the fertile dirt too I believe. Double check it make sure I did put the fertile dirt in there.

Ya know how long it took to BOS into my bank to slap on a deed 14,500 fertile dirt in a heap off the ground ? rolleyes:

Anyhow, check the GIL loot house I set it to OWNER only. Ya can't miss the rarewood chest in Christmassy bloodwood rare made by some crafter named:
um Miranda !


Also check by the tele tile to Blind Otto's keep. I put a backpack there, with some KSS mementos and things that I had and that Vortex gave me, that should go in Blind Otto's keep, since he is the only one left still holding the KSS guild stone ! I can't lock stuff down in his keep, figured maybe yu can ?

I don't want KSS or it's history, or their/our/my own too once, place here on Siege, to become ever, lost from this shard. Please try to get it to his keep locked down and safe, he will log in again some fine day, I hope ! He was once hoping to make a KSS museum of sorts, and hopefully one day he can do that.

Also in that backpack are two non related books, that *intertwined* with KSS, both books Kelmo gave me, one about [Iantown], and of course the other is the [GUILD BIBLE for VMP] ... them vile vampires !
Siege surely should not ever forget about them all, either !

Thank you for the fertile dirt and potions and plants. The white bag and book have been moved to Ottos keep, I had to look for a free tile on the floor to lock it down. Its at the foot of his stairs so he will stumble over it when he either goes down or up them.
