would be good to see them increase the points gained off killing meers. it seems absurb you have to kill 2500 of them to get enough for a corrupted book of truth.

at least scale it up. paragon meer eternals are brutal but yield so little return.

for the life of me i can't figure why there was such a rush to fix the dye tub bug yet they expect players to grind thru 2500 meer for a book that may or may not be important down the road.

poor planning in my opinion. the same way grinding 45 minutes on a boat to kill a pirate for a light flaming cannonball and 2500 gold is a total WASTE OF TIME>

I like that the question-answer posts are back. Keep this a regular feature...

However, 'answering' a question with 'this is currently being reviewed' or 'we are looking into this' is viewed with great skepticism, and are basically seen as a non-answers.


If the playerbase collectively feels that there are issues with a feature in the game (such as fishing powerscrolls being absurdly rare) then make a fix ASAP.

No scepticism, but big amusement.
People wonder for months how to get powerscrolls and are worried.
They say it might take them hundreds of quests and I bet no ea developer did the math on how many quest it would take.


So now they are either rechecking the code or reviewing the system.

If you drop a fishmonger quest, you drop a reputation level on each of the fish in the order. If you have a quest for 10 haddock and you drop the quest, the next time a fish monger asks you for haddock you will be asked for 5. It can never go lower than 5. The quantity levels are 5, 10, 15, 20 but you start at 10. There is no other penalty, so don’t worry if you have to dump your orders to dry dock you ship. However, know that being fickle will hurt your reputation in UO as it does in life.

What about if you pick up additional quests before you complete the first? Any negative to that, as some think? And are fishmonger quests universal or per npc?

Personally I know what can be done with the fishing quests... As far as dropping a quest & you Drop a Reputation Lvl on it I think that is absurd. Do you loose in Tailoring / Smithing Bods like this NO, so why in *&*@ do you loose here???.... What many of us thought as maybe a lil enjoyment to the new fishing upgrade, it's become a PIA. I know 2 people who have done I would dare say over 220 quests each, I has not received one PS (5) at all. One lady & I would guess she has to be in the 250 range on quests & not turned one quest down & 0 PS's. The other person has received a cpl of 5 PS's. Wow

There are some of the old long running items with hidden mods. Compare both facing Evil Orc Helms and one has a hidden mod. The Tribal Spears have a hidden mod. Juka Lord bows have hidden.

Only thing I can think of is all items used to have Durability chance. Armor and weapons. I think they are getting the Durability chance roll without the mod. Some bleed over counting as a mod.

I would also like to know if there is thruth of the statement of one that you can loose your fishing rep when stoning fishing skill.

Whether they give a solid answer or not, at least they responded, in my book that's still better than the utter silence we got when people were trying to buy the booster.

Maybe when they get all the parts installed and finish fixing 'High Seas', I'll consider a purchase, otherwise the only thing 'High' about it is what EA thinks we are for putting faith in them to release a complete booster.

How hard is scrolls? Add them to the list that regularly spawns at Champs, And obtainable as your fishing 'rep' goes up (rep could reset after you get one to make it a nice grind, like they've turned other things into).

I don't really understand why EA-UO developers prefer RNG drops instead of 'reputation' earned to get a drop.

This seems to be a combination, but still with a very heave RNG part.

gotta love the RNG, even tho it doesnt love us. My 110 magery T-hunter went to do a map this morning, and didnt even finish it off. EVs weren't there...

I just went home and logged off to try again later sometime
RNG may be fine to use, but they should set the bottom end of it a little higher

Q - I was just wondering if Hit mana drain, and Hit fatigue, and splintering weapon are working correctly at the moment, because they dont seem to be when ive tested my weapons.

Mesanna : No this is being reviewed for a possible fix in the next publish.

Don't forget Hit Curse on the Legacy of the Dread, and Hit Lower Defense on Altered Mace and Shield glasses.

Colored Tribal Masks - hidden property

Q - Occasionally I throw on what can only be described as novelty items on my imbuing vendor.

Today I grabbed a couple colored tribal masks.
I figured I'd imbue the four resists on it to 80% of their armor ability and then add lrc 18% and sell them as a cheap novelty.

So I imbued
physical to 16 OK
cold to 19 OK
poison to 23 OK
energy to 18 OK

then when I went to imbue LRC it said no more item properties can be added.
Hmm
Went into the imbuing menu and sure enough it is at 5 properties.
I redid my math...yep only added 4.
I pulled up an un-imbued one and checked it and sure enough if put on one property I would already be at a 2 count on the properties.

What is this hidden property?
Is this a bug?
Anyone else find this before?

Phoenix: I was unable to reproduce this, did a few to try to verify it and each one had 5 properties on them. ​

I'm wondering if the masks have "Durability" on them. I noticed a ring of Invisibility had that as a property (I assume).

We'll always try to provide detail where possible - some developers are more under the gun than others at various times (and sometimes they're all really swamped) so it can be difficult to get the right answers.

I intend to follow up with additional info on the 120 fishing power scrolls when I can (or you'll see an appropriate patch/publish note), for now we just wanted to address the fact that we have heard your feedback and are reviewing the system to ensure it functions how we want it to.

Q - Does the di from stone form count as item di-like on weps/ring- or 'other' di like divine fury?

Mesanna: Stone Form does nout count as an item DI

Does it count towards the 300% cap?

Why does Fishing always get shafted Since they're pushing High Seas, they really need to get the Fishing stuff under control.

It's not a shaft - it's a pole. They both feel the same, except for the loops on the pole to run the fishing string through.

Hello I think something is wrong with the quest. I have dropped 3 quest, right in the beginning, but have done enough to get 9 +5 ps, so I have done alot of quest.

Many times I get a quest for 5 fish, right before/after i would get a quest for 15 of those same fish. Well last night I started quest again and most are for dungeon fish, 1st time I have got any.
Just got 2 quest one calls for 10 crag snappers, one calls for 5 crag snappers? I havent quit/refused any quest in forever. I just started fishing dungeon fish so I know 100% that I didnt refuse or quit any.

Maybe if you get more than one quest in your hold it thinks you quit the other quest in your hold?

What is not working with the splintering weapon? I've been farming the pixie renowned trying to get a sword for a new template but no luck yet so I can't test it.

The free bleed works just fine, but you can't stack bleeds like they said you could. That imo shouldn't be fixed anyways. It in all reality shouldn't make you bleed.. just a forced walk.

When you're farming those make sure you look on the corpse and on the ground around where she dies. I've heard they sometimes go straight to the floor :/.

Ok, well give us detail on this.

Since you've been mainly focused on all this new revamp of fishing. What details can you give to the pvpers on the things they've been concerned about? A lot of people in this group feel like you've forgotten about us.

Are you even working on anything relevant to us?

And if so what?
