Ultima Online taps Armstrong for producer position

Another day, another Ultima Online producer. OK, maybe the changes at the top aren't that frequent, but it seems like the granddaddy of MMOs has served as something of a training ground for genre producers over the last several years.

The newest commander and chief is Bonnie "Mesanna" Armstrong. The UO website says that her "drive, dedication and knowledge of UO, together with her motivation to kill players (in-game) are well known in the office and among players."

Armstrong hasn't revealed her plans for the game just yet, but the post says to expect news on that front in the near future.

I'm not expecting a new york times editorial level of article from massively but they should have at least googled Mesanna before this hastily thrown together piece of (what some refer to as) article. No mention of her thirteen years of work in Ultima Online or her doing the job of the producer for more than two years already. On top of this is a screenshot from Kingdom Reborn. I think I should apply to write articles on eve online for massively, I know nothing about that game which seems to make me the best candidate.

Yeah I got a kick out of the KR screenshot. Can't says I blame them...why would you want to toss up a screenshot of the CC or the EC? Wish I was playing KR right now. Looks way better than anything we have right now.

It's just kinda funny here is news that is worthy of some free publicity and there is no way in hell anyone wants the current clients graphic set displayed for others to see.

The guy probably flipped through the various UO screenshots and picked the one that looked the best and guess who was the winner? Kingdom Reborn.

He probably looked at the other screenshots and thought no way can the game look like that.

Is that because her track record says she will? Well no her history is strictly pixel crack.
Then why would so many people be so excited? Because a starving dog wont be denyed a bone no matter how bad it tastes.

Another step in the wrong direction, rewarding the wrong people, and another step to the end of Ultima Online.

It would seem apparently all of my programmer friends are right. If you tell a group of people correcting problems is too difficult, no matter how inaccurate it is, they tend to believe it, if you just repeat it.

I would just ask that some time be invested in helping us run events that are meaningful for the groups we play with, in the overarching spawn of all things Sosaria.
