If you have redeemed this item as a 12th anniversary gift please do not use an axe to re-deed this item. Please, keep an eye out on the Herald for when this issue has been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Umm... how else would you re-deed it if not with an axe? Pretty sure they mean do not re-deed at all?

If it can't be re-deed w/an axe, house custom will break it too. I think the warning was not to re-deed it at all. This should be an interesting fix. It could break other aspects of deco as well. That is... sometimes we want to break something and use the pieces for a certain look. Devs please be careful with this.

And now we know why they did not want to rush out the anniversary gifts and vet reward items when we were lining up with our hand outs *tsk tsk*

*holds hat in hand*
I'm sorry dev team. Forgive me?

I feel bad for them too. It's not easy stuff, but, heck man! They getting paid for this and we're paying hard earned money for bugs?
*sigh* Can't win, just can't.

Customizing my house made my virtue floor deed poof. It's no longer on the floor and not in the moving crate. If you have these placed you may just be SOL.

(I think) Going into custom mode is the same as using an axe. Think of the house having it's own little axe. When you flip into custom mode the house goes around axing all of your deeded add-ons for you. When you come back out of custom mode, the house is kind enough to replace all of your deeded items exactly where you left them (save pentagram deeds... the house likes to move those around for you). If you have placed a wall or other obstruction over the area the deed would normally occupy, the house will simply put the deed in your moving crate.

The only exception to this rule is a broken item. A broken item is a multi-tile add-on that has one of it's components on a different z axis than the other components. Broken items are completely destroyed going into custom mode. Using an axe on broken items destroys the piece on that tile leaving the rest of the pieces. At this point the item is completly destroyed on going into custom mode. However it can still be salvaged if you placed another identical item in the exact (x/y) position you placed the broken item. You would have to raise it (the new item) with gozas, break it, and lower the missing piece to align with the z axis of the broken item.

For example this table:

was made by placing a single colored table on a raised set of gozas. By droping the center goza a few increments, the center piece of the table will drop as well. The table is now broken. Axe the center piece and destroy it. Then use the deco tool to lower the end pieces all the way down. Then raise another set of gozas over the table and place the different colored table. Again lower the center goza until the center piece drops. Then axe (destroy) the end pieces. Lower the center piece to line up with the other two end pieces from the first table. Though they are different colored pieces, the table is whole and can be re-deeded. The far east section determines the color so the table will be gold if the end pieces are gold and black if the end pieces are black.

*If the virtue tile deeds follows the same logic as everything else* then there must be some hiccup in placing them that causes one of the sections to place on a different z axis. It isn't a 100% glitch because some deeds.... re-deed and some do not. So the Herald warning should read to not go into custom mode as well as not to use an axe on the items.

What I'm asking the devs to do about this (if possible) is to code a fix that targets virtue tile deeds only and not a fix that effects all multi-tile add-ons globally. Loosing the abiltiy to do this again breaks some fun and interesting ways to spice up the homestead. Sarsmi and I's pentagram floors would not be possible if we were not allowed to destroy specific unwanted sections of the pentagram add-on.

I chopped and replaced and chopped and replaced mine this morning as I could not get it positioned right. I had no problems at all with it going "poof" my only problem is how ridiculously hard it is to place the stupid thing. It took me several minutes on an emptly floor of an 18x18 to get it to place.

My virtue floor disappeared upon customizing, I reported it, will I get my deed back or shall I wait UO 24's anniversary to get one again?

sorry ... am in a foul mood but it seems to me there is still too much time for redoing stuff than getting it right in the first place.

Altho ... compared to prior fiascos, SA release really was pretty darned good considering all the stuff in it.

Will also not redeed, but disappear if you demolish a house with an already longer placed deed.

And you get paid money to do your job, too.

Oh...I know...you will tell us all how YOU Never Ever make mistakes at work...because you get paid not to!!

LOL.

Look down now, Hildebrand...at your desk.

Do you have any pencils?

And the reason that there are Erasers on the ends of those little contraptions? You know why, right?

Because if you DON'T know why...why...you just got something wrong! :hahaha::hahaha:

Yep...you guessed it Hildebrand...it's because Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone...even you...yes...even you.

Don't sit here all haughty taughty man...you screw up as bad, or worse, than the Devs,...we all do. We just don't get to parade your screw ups through town...you aren't on display, or I am betting right now you could think of two or three things recently that you have done that would embarass the crap out of you, if everyone knew.

You get paid money to make mistakes, just like we all do.

The Devs got lots of stuff right.

And they have stuff they need to fix.

So put down the stone...and go test for Bugs, and report them...do that.

None of us walk on water...even you, Hildebrand...even you. :scholar:

Unfortunately this has pretty much been known since they were released and it's unfortunate that it's taken this long to get a fix. Now people who did redeed will probably not get this item back.

Maybe they should just give out another set of gift tickets for everyone? Heck they could call them 11th anniversary gifts... if they wanted an excuse.
