UO Flash-based client?

I can't help but think that a 12 year old game ought to be playable without a dedicated, installed client.

Is the browser-based application language Flash advanced enough to do this?

How nice would it be to just open up Firefox, browse to "client.uo.com" and start playing?

peronsally I would not like it, my little one plays a cartoon network game and that is how her game has to start up, everytime. So if you delete history and cookies, it has to download all that information again, and that stinks on the wait time.

That would be quite nice if EA could pull that off as an option - I'd love to be able to hop on for quick things when I'm away from a computer with UO on it.

I wouldn't get my hopes up though - it'd probably be a daunting task.

No - but perhaps doing certain non-critical functions such as managing vendor inventory, sorting your character's bank-box, clothing or equipment might be easily achievable ?

At first I thought you were talking about UO/KR/SA on a USB 2.0 Flash/Thumb Drive.

There would be no reason for this not to work.

Take a 8GB/16GB usb 2.0 flash drive and copy the UO directory to it. Copy the EA Games directory to it.

Plug it into any computer and if need be, copy the EA Games Directory to the boot drive.

Navigate to the USB 2.0 Flash Drive, and start UO, You could set up a Short Cut to the uo.exe program in the Root Directory of the USB 2.0 Flash Drive.

Personally I’d like to have a mobile or web edition of the game, even if it was limited in functionality.
The ability to play the game without installing it and play it browser based without fire wall or system restrictions would be handy in a lot of different work, school or public environments.
Too bad they didn’t continue work on the mobile platform they started at one time, it would probably do well on iphones. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6024753.html
