Bug Fixes


  • The Ossian Grimoire can now be dyed using Tokuno Dyes
  • Vanilla plants will now display with a light gray color in the plant reproduction and resource gumps
  • Various creatures that were not previously providing spined leather when skinned now provide the correct leather type
  • The Redeemer can now be used to skin animals
  • Jewelers will now purchase all manner of silver rings and bracelets
  • Plain metal chests can now be unlocked using the magic unlock spell
  • An issue with items being unobtainable once placed inside the Sacrificial Altar has been corrected
  • Closing the City Banner purchase gump with a left click will no longer purchase a banner deed
  • Players will no longer be sent to Felucca when they are ejected from certain restriction regions if they do not choose an alternate destination
  • Gargoyles can now use the Lance’s dismount special move while flying
  • The Basket Making Book now has the appropriate item properties displayed
  • Various Peerless keys can no longer have their timers broken
  • All tamable pets will have their speed reset to default speed
  • Players should now be able to enter the Prism of Light while they have other deeds in their backpack

  • Vines will no longer spawn in the water when they are spawned by the Vesper Museum
  • The number of mobs spawned in various portions of the Citadel has been scaled down
  • Players can now place the Captain’s Wheel on a Britain Ship addon pad
  • The Staff of Pyros now has a 5% chance to summon a firefield on its target when attacking
  • Newly created Robins Egg candy will no longer fill the tummy of the eater
  • Fruit Bowls, Barrel Staves, Barrel Lids, Gingerbread Cookies, and Runed Switches are now stackable
  • Quest givers will no longer potentially reveal hidden players
  • Players will no longer get stuck inside the Prism of Light if they lose their ticket
  • Elven Shirts can now be blessed using the Clothing Bless Deed
  • Tailors on Siege Perilous will no longer sell Flax
  • The Blessed Statue will now properly display whether they hold reagents or not
  • Players will no longer be able to chop containers when they are contained within a bankbox

  • Fixed stacking issues when removing items from vendor inventory to your backpack
  • Fixed an issue that stopped players from smelting or repairing items
  • It is now possible to buy items that are too heavy to carry from a player-owned vendor.
    • This is only possible if the buyer’s bank box can hold the item.
    • If successful, the item will be placed directly in the buyer’s bank box
    • Items that are light enough to be carried will never be sent directly to the bank box; these items will be purchased normally
  • Tome of Lost Knowledge can be equipped on a vendor now
  • Building signs have now be localized in various towns
  • Lockdown count for trash barrels will be removed from your house immediately after deletion
  • You can no longer rename runes marked for shops/houses
  • Hanging Skeletons can be re-deeded by the owner of the house or the person that placed it.
  • The goatee no longer appears to be a Van Dyke in the EC
  • Ornate Elven Chest will only take 1 lockdown now instead of 2
  • House signs will update immediately when using a name change token. Please note this only works for player’s primary houses.
  • Items locked down under house signs will be released and moved to the moving crates for classic and customizable houses.
  • Object Handles will no longer remain for items that are deleted or removed
  • Vendors can equip Faction Morph Earrings
  • Players will no longer receive the double bark of I wish to secure this and no longer locked down when securing an item
  • Despise mobs will all start at up to Level 5
  • Luck bonus from the 10th Anniv sculpture should no longer get stuck on players
  • Gargoyle character statues should present properly when using the restore button
  • Hail Storm should no longer flag the caster by hitting allies or player vendors
  • Mooring lines of ships will now not allow you to board a ship while you are a PVP aggressor

  • Exodus will now destroy all items that block his movement
  • You can no longer drink from a bottle while in the trade window
  • It is now possible for owners to simultaneously release and retrieve their locked down and secured items using the new “Retrieve” context menu option.

Vendor Fixes

  • Vendors will now charge their fees incrementally over time, instead of once per day.
  • If the vendor runs out of funds, the player has a one-hour grace period before the vendor packs up.
  • Vending Penalty is abolished and all existing Vending Penalties are removed from all items.
  • Vendors will now charge fees for selling equipped items
  • It is now possible to drag inventory directly from one vendor's backpack to another, preserving sale price
Moving Barrels


It is now possible to re-deed container house add-ons
  • If the container is not locked down or secured:
    • The contents are dumped to the floor
    • The add-on returns to normal deed form
  • If the container is locked down or secured:
    • The add-on becomes a barrel instead of a deed
    • The contents of the add-on container(s) are stored inside the barrel
    • The barrel is never blessed
    • The barrel cannot be opened
    • Items be added to/removed from/used while inside the barrel
    • The barrel acts like an add-on deed
    • When the add-on is placed from the barrel, the contents are restored

I like this one. Have encountered people storing bags of items on their vendors for 1gp, but too heavy to buy. Hope they don't notice the patch notes :p

It's a possible drop from Easter Baskets which were from shard events a couple years ago. The baskets do not recharge. It's just edible deco.

Wait, what? I thought this was by design. I know that when AOS launched humans could dismount-while-mounted with a lance, but then it was nerfed because it was supposedly too powerful. They changed it so you could only dismount other lance users, to allow jousting.

No one is going to use them anyway since they don't work with a shield.

I'm not usually happy about patches, but it seems as though some good thought has gone into this. I like it, a lot! Small things here and there that will enhance gameplay.

I'm a little worried about the gargoyle flying lance dismount. That changes pvp a lot....... we'll see how it goes.

So it cannot be opened ... so surely anything in it is locked in there forever? And I suspect a missing word in "Items be added to/removed from/used while inside the barrel", and it is likely either 'can' or 'cannot' ... rather important to know which ;) although if the barrel is indeed unopenable, cannot seems most likely ... so the entire function of a 'barrel' is to take up storage spaces without being any use at all?

Maybe I need more sleep to figure this one out.... or is it a 'barrel' addon deed storing all the stuff, which if placed becomes a useable container? And if THAT is the case... infinite storage, or does it keep the item count for the contents?

Maybe it's to bring the dexxer back. If gargs are running around dismounting, then you have to have dexxers running around disarming those guys (or other gargs trying to dismount them) etc etc etc. I can see the disarm/change wpn/dismount spam going crazy with this

Yay, finally the standing in Luna all day fighting golems will stop, and many other pesky things.
Hopefully - although I hope someone has plans for making golems useful for something, since that was pretty much their only function.

Ill still train on my golem..where there's a will there's a way and I already got it :)

I'm ok with lance dismount if they make specials toggle while casting spells again if not that is ********!! Lol..like seriously gargs are OP enough now they can fly dismount I hope it's just a misread or means if the other person has a lance it works like with humans

I'd bet that someone tried to dismount with a garg and it failed hence the "bug" fix.

Have any of you even tested it on test? Perhaps Gargs couldnt dismount other lance users , and THAT was fixed...not giving them full ability to dismount anyone while flying.


^ Tested it, thats exactly what it is.

They also missed a few Buffs/debuff Icons, we want them Pleaseeeee:

-Searing Weapon Debuff Icon
- Feint Buff ( the 4 or 5 seconds while we have reduced damage) we want a buff icon for it that says how long it last and how much dmg reduction
-Block Special move Icon buff
-Defense Mastery special move icon buff
-Psychic Attack special move debuff icon
-and maybe more specials moves icon? Force arrow buff/debuff ? Dual wield buff ?

Once again - the problem is when they put effort in - its misguided. I looked across the list and saw a single thing I had been looking for (fixing runic damage increase BACK to 35% as it had been for past 6-7 years but broken with reforging).
What I see on this list a a whole bunch of nonsense fixes like what items vendors can equip and NPC's looking mannish. I mean really - does that impact my gameplay - at all?

How about what my publish of bug fixes and key item enhancements would look like :

Pet Damage given and taken is the same color - Makes it difficult to determine if your pet is doing solid dmg to an opponent or taking heavy dmg. One line of code to fix this. Make one red and the other green.
NPC's Do not sell War Forks - So you cannot buy normal war forks and fill war fork bods like you can with all other items.
Bod Books have no 'Price All Function' - Huge disincentive for pricing your Bods. I have 20,000+. When I want to update prices I don't want to click each bod. I want to set the filter and say 'change all' on the filtered list and type in a number. Been asked for by players for YEARS.
Sortable Bod Books and Vendors - Why don't vendors alpha sort to make it easier to find items in 2d? When I want to buy a buckler - I want to go to the B's and buy it not scroll through the entire inventory of a blacksmith looking for it. Alpha sort is simple coding. Same with a bod book. All bods in the book should be alpha sorted. No reason not to.
Blessed Items do not Auto-Equip - Absolutely no reason for this. You click your corpse and all insured items pop back on - but blessed do not.
Items do not requip if pack is empty - Another annoying bug. If you die with only blessed/insured items - when you click your corpse you have to put something on it then click it for autodress to work. Annoying and dumb.
Bod Turn in Timer - They added a 10 second timer to try to affect scriptiong bod turn ins. It only affects legitimate players. Remove the timer. Its stupid and annoying when you drop second bod on NPC and it pops back in your pack. Stupid change by a former dev team that doesn't understand scripting. Scripts can be programmed to adjust - as a manual player - we are penalized. This change FAVORED scripters.
Stackable Items - Made barrel components stackable (awesome - how many of us are storing these?) but didn't make other key items stackable such as Heritage Tokens and all tokens for that matter. I have 300+ heritage tokens on GL alone. Please make them stack. No reason not to. Click stack and it uses one just like stacked dyes works.
NPC Buying - You can buy items that cost over 2k gold by taking directly from bank box but under 2k and you have to have the gold on you. For player vendors all purchases come from the bank. Why don't NPC's work the same as player vendors? Makes no sense.
Stablemaster requires gold stacks in bankbox - It cannot take from checks. Annoying as all getout. No reason for this either. If you have gold in check or stacks it should work.
Walking off a ship plank - Why do you have to be in walk mode and run wont work? All my characters are set to always run so to get off a ship with a plank - I have to turn off 'always run' then turn it back on. Annoying and no reason.
Bribing Text in 2d - When you bribe a tailor/smith it double repeats the text filling your screen and making it hard to find the NPC. Can you just put a message that says 'For 2,100 gold I will give you a better bod?' Thats all that was needed - not the long paragraph and shown twice to boot (superimposed).
Scroll binders - Why do you have to combine up to 2.0 or 5.0 exactly? Can't you just say 'convert to scroll' at any time and use it or consume it? I mean so what if we combined 2.4 so far - let me eat it.


I could probably list another 20-30 things but these are things that actually annoy the crap out of me on a daily basis. I have never thought about the display of a female NPC looking mannish in 10 years of UO.

Please please please FOCUS on issues affecting gameplay. If you don't play the game yourself - get a focus group of players to give you feedback on your designs/plans rather than just guess which is what you seemed to have done with this list.

I could probably list another 20-30 things but these are things that actually annoy the crap out of me on a daily basis. I have never thought about the display of a female NPC looking mannish in 10 years of UO.

This has been keeping me up for years but tonight I will sleep well knowing that UO is in safe hands.

Can someone please explain in plain English the vendor changes?
What is the base rate?
How much is it if the vendor is empty?
If I keep a vendor for more than a couple days is the price going to be insanely high?
Vendors charge incrementally over time at what rate?
Should I just put up new vendors every day to avoid the price hike?
How much is a vendor going to cost now?

Ill still train on my golem..where there's a will there's a way and I already got it :)

I'm ok with lance dismount if they make specials toggle while casting spells again if not that is ********!! Lol..like seriously gargs are OP enough now they can fly dismount I hope it's just a misread or means if the other person has a lance it works like with humans
If 2 players run at each other with a lance in their hand they can dismount the other while being mounted...like jousting. im only assuming, but maybe that wasnt working on gargoyles and someone out there wanted it fixed.

I hope the CC paperdoll now shows gargish aprons in the right color. Right now they just show basic green for all. They mentioned the EC in the notes but not the CC for some reason.

Correct. It only works if the other person is also holding a lance. People should learn the game before complaining eh? ;)

good first round of fixes, shows they can fix things other dev teams broke/added.
Now we gotta keep up the reports and asking for beneficial additions/changes. that way they can fit a mini batch of fixes we want with each publish.


Im sure some of the stuff Theo listed can be fixed easily, they just might not have gotten a report or listing for them in the bug list. And other stuff people wanted done might not have been doable or a simple fix, remember this is UO where one small coding change can wreck dozens of other things.

Well the gargish aprons are better in the CC. They now show the correct color in the paperdoll. Unfortunately, they still do not show correct on the avatar in game. The picture below has me wearing a pure yellow robe and a pure red apron using the basic dye tub. Note the apron on the paperdoll shows the adjusted hue. The avatar doesn't show the full extent of the red dye. It looks like there is just a little bit of red highlight, but it certainly does not look the same as the paperdoll. The red does show on the apron when unequipped and in my backpack. This is on TC on Pub 80.

I love the fix but do it 5 years too late???? I mean its just inconsistent.... i guess i better legendary a thrower ASAP. I dont like things being the norm for ever and then just changed all of a sudden.

hopefully the golem change was to setup for the pet revamp era when they might make Golems usable in some way. I think if ya got 100 tinkering on the owner character of the golem it should get a damage boost, maybe make it a nice miner protecting pet and have it recieve Elemental slayer properties.

Set up a house and a vendor and have someone else buy from it? Although I'm thinking about the fix regarding weight of items.

I'm sure the penalties and fees can be assessed as well, just might take a few days or so.

So it cannot be opened ... so surely anything in it is locked in there forever? And I suspect a missing word in "Items be added to/removed from/used while inside the barrel", and it is likely either 'can' or 'cannot' ... rather important to know which ;) although if the barrel is indeed unopenable, cannot seems most likely ... so the entire function of a 'barrel' is to take up storage spaces without being any use at all?

Maybe I need more sleep to figure this one out.... or is it a 'barrel' addon deed storing all the stuff, which if placed becomes a useable container? And if THAT is the case... infinite storage, or does it keep the item count for the contents?

On test, when you fill an eleven chest, or any deeded container and then hit it with an axe, you get a barrel in your backpack that is holding the items but cannot be opened. It is in your backpack and when double clicked gives you the chest with items where you left them. You cannot overload the chest more than you can carry, it will default to the floor.

All Very Nice.

I do have a question about the ship mooring lines and not being able to board a ship if flagged as an aggressor. So this means that in fel if I am fishing for fishermen and I kill one I have to sit around waiting for a flag timer to expire before I can board and loot his boat? Seems a little odd to me. Also does this include trying to get off the boat onto land?

Once again - the problem is when they put effort in - its misguided. I looked across the list and saw a single thing I had been looking for (fixing runic damage increase BACK to 35% as it had been for past 6-7 years but broken with reforging).
What I see on this list a a whole bunch of nonsense fixes like what items vendors can equip and NPC's looking mannish. I mean really - does that impact my gameplay - at all?

How about what my publish of bug fixes and key item enhancements would look like :

Pet Damage given and taken is the same color - Makes it difficult to determine if your pet is doing solid dmg to an opponent or taking heavy dmg. One line of code to fix this. Make one red and the other green. I'm gonna take a guess and say you're probably not a programmer. Here's a hint though, you can actually pull your pets lifebar to see if it's taking damage. Neat, huh?
NPC's Do not sell War Forks - So you cannot buy normal war forks and fill war fork bods like you can with all other items. Sorry but I fail to see how this is any more important than the fixes they did put in.
Bod Books have no 'Price All Function' - Huge disincentive for pricing your Bods. I have 20,000+. When I want to update prices I don't want to click each bod. I want to set the filter and say 'change all' on the filtered list and type in a number. Been asked for by players for YEARS. This is not a bug fix, and it's probably quite a bit more work to do than you think, and benefits only players who actually sell BODs regularly.
Sortable Bod Books and Vendors - Why don't vendors alpha sort to make it easier to find items in 2d? When I want to buy a buckler - I want to go to the B's and buy it not scroll through the entire inventory of a blacksmith looking for it. Alpha sort is simple coding. Same with a bod book. All bods in the book should be alpha sorted. No reason not to. Again, you claim it's simple coding. You don't know what the coding in this game looks like, so maybe you shouldn't assume? Either way, not many vendors have inventory lists really necessitating this type of change.
Blessed Items do not Auto-Equip - Absolutely no reason for this. You click your corpse and all insured items pop back on - but blessed do not. Make a dress macro. I press one key when I get rezzed. All my clothes go back on. Pretty simple and "absolutely no reason" you can't do it yourself.
Items do not requip if pack is empty - Another annoying bug. If you die with only blessed/insured items - when you click your corpse you have to put something on it then click it for autodress to work. Annoying and dumb. Wow, is this really an issue?
Bod Turn in Timer - They added a 10 second timer to try to affect scriptiong bod turn ins. It only affects legitimate players. Remove the timer. Its stupid and annoying when you drop second bod on NPC and it pops back in your pack. Stupid change by a former dev team that doesn't understand scripting. Scripts can be programmed to adjust - as a manual player - we are penalized. This change FAVORED scripters. Ok, makes sense.

Stackable Items - Made barrel components stackable (awesome - how many of us are storing these?) but didn't make other key items stackable such as Heritage Tokens and all tokens for that matter. I have 300+ heritage tokens on GL alone. Please make them stack. No reason not to. Click stack and it uses one just like stacked dyes works. Take 2 seconds and think about what might be the difference between a barrel stave and a token from a programming perspective.

NPC Buying - You can buy items that cost over 2k gold by taking directly from bank box but under 2k and you have to have the gold on you. For player vendors all purchases come from the bank. Why don't NPC's work the same as player vendors? Makes no sense. I agree it doesn't make sense, but does anyone even care? Seems like a pretty big waste of time to worry about this.

Stablemaster requires gold stacks in bankbox - It cannot take from checks. Annoying as all getout. No reason for this either. If you have gold in check or stacks it should work. Agree with this.
Walking off a ship plank - Why do you have to be in walk mode and run wont work? All my characters are set to always run so to get off a ship with a plank - I have to turn off 'always run' then turn it back on. Annoying and no reason. Ok, again, is this really a priority?

Bribing Text in 2d - When you bribe a tailor/smith it double repeats the text filling your screen and making it hard to find the NPC. Can you just put a message that says 'For 2,100 gold I will give you a better bod?' Thats all that was needed - not the long paragraph and shown twice to boot (superimposed). Ok?

Scroll binders - Why do you have to combine up to 2.0 or 5.0 exactly? Can't you just say 'convert to scroll' at any time and use it or consume it? I mean so what if we combined 2.4 so far - let me eat it. So don't use scroll binders if you don't like the effects. It's very clear what they do, just considering it before using them.


I could probably list another 20-30 things but these are things that actually annoy the crap out of me on a daily basis. I have never thought about the display of a female NPC looking mannish in 10 years of UO.

Please please please FOCUS on issues affecting gameplay. If you don't play the game yourself - get a focus group of players to give you feedback on your designs/plans rather than just guess which is what you seemed to have done with this list.
I think what you are really asking for here is for them to focus on issues that effect your gameplay. Just because they are working on things that you don't personally care about doesn't mean they're not working on relevant things. I took the time to respond to each of your priority bug-fixes to illustrate this point.

And seriously, stop with the "devs dont play the game" bullcrap. Many if not all of the higher-up management of the team has played just as long as you have. That doesn't mean their opinions match yours on what is or is not important.

Show me how to make a dress macro in 2d without UO assist please. And before you say 'well everyone should buy UO Assist' - I refuse to spend addional money to a third party to make up for a bad user interface. Its like buying a car without a steering wheel but then the dealer says 'its ok go to ebay and buy a steering wheel for your car so you can drive it'.

I agree that many of them on this list are important to others 'gameplay' but there are too many here that should be the LAST bugs they fix in game with other issues needing addressed first that was my point. I'm not at issue with all of them just the 10-20% that seem like issues affecting no one to very few players. But hey - at least I can cut up hides with my Redeemer, now wait.... where did I stash that 7 years ago????
