Good Afternoon everyone,

Due to the large number of houses going into decay we have turned off the Housing Warehouse until we can look into this issue further. We will keep everyone informed as to when it will be turned back on as soon as possible. Due to the holiday tomorrow we will not return to the office until Tuesday.

Yeah that's pretty much what it means when they say *We are turning off the housing warehouse*. I'm guessing that because the housing system is so old, anything they do to it..IE the lasted changes to IDOC's..can be quite devastating. I know I wouldn't want to mess with the housing database lol.

Hope they get it straightened out!

"sighs" Everyone who knows idocs knows why this is happening. 90 days after there is a return to britain, houses that have been "bugged" start falling. For some reason the rtb triggers a house to fall that should have fallen long ago. My guild leader on Siege predicted this would happen a month ago. Just not sure why the players know this and the devs don't? Maybe we should have sent them an email and told them lots of houses would be falling...

I still don't understand why we've had to go through several months of messing with housing/house decay. In 15 years of playing I've never had issues with placing houses, trading houses, wierd house decay or idocing until they started changing things last year. I used to go to an idoc once a month or so and it was one of my favorite things to do and never had problems with scripters. Now I don't even bother looking for them. I'm sure some folks will disagree but my vote is to just change it all back to the way that worked for over a decade.

There really isnt anything that needs fixed. The RTB is what causes the old "bugged" houses to fall.

Yup these are all the rtb houses that were not found in phase one of cleaning them up a couple of years ago. No need to turn off the warehouse over it =)

I mean..hopefully that's true. I am quite sure they saw an issue on the back end as the reason to take it down for precaution sake. I doubt everyone here would be singing the same tune to wake up to their house gone..however the tears could clear up a dry spell if it had..too bad! I like a little whine drama..

All the houses I found that are currently slightly and somewhat worn (yes there are A LOT of them) are all noobish looking, empty, and or minimally decorated. They have all been there for a very long time. I thought yesterday when finding them that they must be leftover rtb houses. We aren't talking castles or even keeps. most are basic plots in tram. I checked all my houses and my friends houses. Nothing seems to be falling that belongs to current active players.

i gave up with it Flappy, had to go take care of my critters....was gettin to cold for em here tonight.....but i checked in on it and it seems to be frozen in idoc stage, its over 14hrs....would have fallen already if it was gonna

+1 on this. There's some kind of warehouse where they keep houses? I think players have figured out what this means, but do pub notes always have to be so cryptic?

I knew something was up when I saw a bunch of old bugged houses all starting to decay at the same time. Leave it to UO to fix something accidentally and think it was a screw up. If I had to guess the cause they are houses placed or traded to trial accounts before the no house restriction. Several of the houses were placed by IDOCers. 1 small one was placed to block at a castle idoc many years ago, but the other houses around it fell so I was able to upgrade the keep to castle anyway yet that small stayed for years afterward for no reason.

I aint had a good look yet but from just one shard quick looky........were only talking small numbers in decay...seroiusly.... i think a few folks have panicked here on reports..... its like when the devs started to drop all the houses 2-3 years ago on mass and people panicked then...worrying how empty the lands were becoming so quick- especially in malas!!!!..so the devs laid of a little and decyed a handfull every week to stop the mass hysteria!!! lol...and people then seemed to except that malas would become green acres....

Besides certainly not all the bugged ones have gone into decay.....so....never mind.....whatever

they are goin OSI owned right before they dropped, they are acting like they have venders, personaly i think as soon as a account is inactive it should start the decay timer, there is so many houses out there that has like 2 feet of dust on them, its just a waste to have a house sitting there and no one using it

lol! that would be awesome if dust and newspapers piled up on the porch over time of having noone using them.

Another example of their classlessness about customer service. Talk to your customers in plain English.

RTB. Do the Devs know nothing about the game they are supposed to be programming? I guess not, which is a scary thought.

One of the issues with houses falling now is accounts that were active when RTB started but went inactive in the middle of RTB got glitchy. I had one account which I expected to start decaying on the 5th. I was pulling my hair out because for some strange reason, neither account management nor the Origin store could process my credit card. Well, that house has now started decaying 10 days after I expected it to. Fortunately, I was able to finally subscribe tonight. I just hope they fixed the origin store. This does, however, seem to be cleaning up those illegally placed RTB houses. It doesn't seem to be cleaning up all glitchy houses though. There is one marble workshop which has no owner which just keeps on keeping on.

I hope they let all these old bugged houses drop (as they should do). There has been a small plot at the front of my house on Atlantic for ages. I've never seen the owner and last week it started to decay. I hope it falls!

I prayed for years that the ugly house deco'd for Xmas for the last 8 years would fall... and it finally did a few months ago... you can't imagine my joy.

I don't understand why they spent all that time fooling with house anyway. Just like checks, someone woke up and said "Hey!! Let's go jack with the few things we have that are working!"

Let me get this straight. Players are getting all red assed about houses falling that have no active account. Or those that like to juggle houses between active inactive accounts might have to spend money for their house count?

When it comes to new year's resolutions about tighting belts. Did a load of people that only logged on to refresh boats or had BoD chaser accounts realize all the extra cable/dish channels they could get with that money? I know I shut down another account that was a BoD chaser with a historical qualifing 18x18 house. Wish it would fall so I can have a bigger front yard to roll around in. Being the other max storage plots around me staying empty, my new front yard is safe.

Checks are not working unless your one those that profit from the duping history. Or the fact that gold has so little value. And trading is stressfull unless a vendor is involved. Or two butt naked characters are trading anything with a 125 mil cap.

Block movement vines that grow in and on the house. Higher spawn rate based on number there every other month a house is not entered. Vines that spawn with 1000HP and resist get higher with age. Vines that explode on death and push players away along with damage.

Make a hole open under a house that falls. Give the hole HPs and area effect. Area damage that pushes players away from the center of the hole. Or the hole is a sucker. Area effect that pulls things towards it little by little till they get sucked in. Anything in the house at fall is spread around the Abyss mini spawns. Anyone hole sucked is random dropped in the Abyss. Sitting in the Abyss getting some hunting done while waiting for house loot seems a better use of time. Way better then house squatting with scripters.

Put the house decay in the EMs hands. They can take over the house and act like a bicker couple. Then they can just start tossing things out windows and doors. Get into a spell slinger fight blowing out the walls of the house. Creating heavy (100 - 1200 stone) chunks of new titled rubble.

This is just rediculous. Turn it back on. This is not the time to test your new Idoc changes and say "look what we did!". It usually results in disaster.

hehheheheheee.....if only ALL the bugged houses had gone into decay....then we would see some very worried panicking people....these few oddballs aint gonna change much....

but im back from my 3 day vacation so ill be off to have a closer look for myself on the more populated shards....lets be honest the quiet shards have plenty of room already...doubt a few more drops will cause any bother on those..... u can even choose your castle destination /pick your dream plot........But ill go see for myself which few have gone into decay out of the hundreds that are and have simply been bugged for many many moons
