UO Autopatch?

Whats up with it?
I just bought a new laptop to goto Tulsa with so i wanted to install UO onto it.
Downloaded it and all that but when i come to the autopatch screen it just sits there at about 5% untill it times out?

I have both Laptops with the same op (windows 7 64bit) and all settings the same.
Works on the old one but not on the new one.
ATI radeon 4200, 2gig, fully upto date with drivers and upgrades and running Direct X 11 so its not the lappy's fault??

Try running the uopatch.exe file.

The usual suspect would be a priviledges issue. Have you tried running it as administrator? Another usual suspect would be that you installed from a cd that is too old. I think some really old versions of UO are no longer supported by autopatch, and for some that may have changed fairly recently, so you might want to try downloading the client from the official UO website and installing that.

I swapped from my wireless connection (verified at running 5.2meg) to my mobile dongle that runs at 0.8meg.
Working fine on the download now. bizzaar.

Seems to run UO Classic these days you not only need a naff old computer, you also need a naff connection aswell.

Sometimes network settings can cause issues. I enabled ECN on my computer a short while ago, only to find that I could no longer connect to EA's account or support pages. It may well be there is some obscure network setting, such as ECN, which is breaking the patcher. I know ECN works fine with the enhanced client, but I don't know about the classic client.
