ohhh, but, it says at the bottom of the screen after x amount of unsuccessful attempts to update, it will disable? Is that true?

The quick fix is to copy your character folders up one folder in the hierarchy.

just do as serafi said go to your uoassist folder and copy all the folders with your character names for the shard you play and paste them in the shard folder(for me its lake superior folder) and its always a good idea to back up anything you replace incase you do it wrong

Or you could just not close the game after logging out. It is usually patched within a day... or so.

Yes, UOA will disable after 10 unsuccessful tries to connect its own update server.

I remember tugsoft's server went down for a couple of days 2-3 years ago and lots of folk's UOA got disabled.

Workaround is to backup the registry key for UOA before you hit your last attempt and restore that reg file if you can't update repeatedly and get reduced to zero.

Then hope the problem is resolved soon (dns, isp, severed undersea cable problems etc, or even if tugsoft is down etc).
