For years people always saying there is tons of stuff Dev could do to bring back the life in UO. Granted its been over 11 years, however UO has always stayed just on the outside from becoming a persistent world and has remained a light Sim with limited hack and slash adventure... So I thought I draw some purity pictures so everyone could see what UO needs to be aiming for....
An invading army advances on they Abbey where citizens have been trapped inside and incendiary fields of magical sprung up killing anything that tries to escape.
The leader of the hoards posses the keys to all the magic gates and must be eliminated should the citizens survive thirty minutes under siege.
Inside the players summon guardians to help sustain the lines at the cost of points or gold.
After the invaders pass the fire fields they explode into terrifying elemental
The players must use there crafting skills or pay an upkeep at every opening to their strong hold or else it will slowly become breached.
The entrance can be repaired of damage, fortified to defend itself, enhanced to resist damage, and rebuilt if destroyed each taking about 30 seconds and costing points/gold
If the defenders are successful at breaking the enemies front lines they gain access to a reinforcement sigil that allows them to call in for mass support.
However the support is limited based on the time it takes to reach the sigil, taking longer will give the Legions more time to gather forces, they can be called once.

These type of scenarios don't need large pay outs or fancy prizes. A point system needs to be developed to NPC guilds so that players can join guilds and preform tasks all over the land to gain virtue, fame, and ultimately some power over the land and its people.
Meaning high ranking "Royal Guards" would be able to deploy cannons in a war zone situation. High ranking thieves would gain access to secret tunnel systems in cities.
High ranking mages would gain access to summon circles that spawn powerful minions
Just some ideas that have been handed to Dev, but never fully made it over the years.
