Unicorn curing poison question

Will they cure poision only if dismounted, mounted, or both?

And a related question: do the ki-rins do their "calling down the heavens" to help their owner only if dismounted, mounted, or both?

I have been cured both on & off of my Unicorn but this was a few years ago (I rarely use these creatures anymore because I find them to be ineffective against my current foes). I am not sure about the Ki-Rin question; all of my Tamers are female.

Thanks Noble Beast. Not sure if I'll take the unicorn out of the stables very much, but I was curious about their special poison cure ability.
