Haha I fit into that under 20 category. Heading off to college in a few months and may end up putting UO on the back burner for a while, but I agree with much of what's been said about the young ones. We're a rowdy bunch, unfortunately. DX

As they say:

If I had any clue that I'd live this long.... I'd have taken better care of my body ;)

My son will be 38 in September. that makes me feel older than my age does. I'll be 59 in a couple months.

I'm actually in agreement with some most of those young whipper snappers have probably been banned from Stratics long time ago.

Or ran away because Stratics doesn't like negativity or Punk kid.

We were discussing at work today how young people have very little sense of responsibility or consequence these days and how it's almost dangerous for them to have things like credit cards.

Makes me feel old. I still remember my High School days like it was yesterday.... only that was some... 25+ years ago...

Now I have an "empty nest" so to speak... though it still actually full.. and the little buggers should have gotten the ole heave ho... but they remain.... and I actually have a Granddaughter... who'd have thought?? Certainly if you would have asked me when I was 16 if I thought I'd be where I am today I'd have laughed and said "Heck no! ...... I'm never getting married and I'm not going to have children!".... funny how life works out.
I can top that...

3 grandchildren and one last child of mine own in 3 more months.

Please let me respond beforehand...
Yes, I am crazy.

no need to feel out of place here at all. just take a look at some of the older folks post younger plays could add a lot here and maybe even get some people to open there minds and except others view points.

Riddle for the Nascar fans :
Well if you take Jimmy Johnsons' Nascar # then subtract Jeff Gordons', add Jr's in the mix here, then take out Michael Waltrip's old car#, then subtract in the Kasey Kahne, you'll have my age this yr :)

48-24+88-55-4=54

Can we not spoil this 'for fun' thread with irrelevancies please?

Only when they're fun irrelevancies :)

Talking about bans isn't. Accusing us of banning them for having different views isn't.
Banning them for shoving those views down people's throats with an excess of profanity and insulting name calling seems fair to me.

Let's just say that when some apparent youngster, in game asked me about my weirdo house design on Siege this week...........

I told the player I cranked up the volume of an oldies song at 2 am in my RL house
while in UO house customise mode, a song which inspired my designing.

End result became a weirdo black watchtower....not matchin the rest of my UO house.

And the youngster asked me ...... what is that song you were rl listening to on a 'record albumn'..called...ALONG THE WATCHTOWER & ...Jimi who ?

LOL

To wit I pointed to me parrot named Purple Haze...and then I called said player a 'RL ... NOOOOOOOOOOOB' ! lol

I am part of that massive huge baby boomer generation, that was created, by our parents after a big world war. They all created too many humans on this earth, all about the same times, cuz our parents all got hitched and had babies after that big world war, ya know back when there was no internet, no UO and no color tv sets ! lol

And I seem to begin to longer fathom my children's 30s something, generation. They're all busy texting twittering, tweaking, facebooking wanting me to join em in those peculiar activities, and the youngest of my 3 wanted me to join her in some trammie on line facebooky whatever game/place called Farmville !!! *Shudder*

They got me a fancy gizmoy cell phone to keep me up with these techy times, and I dun learned how to *voice mail* on it. I then sent all 3 of my kids a *voice mail* of my present children... 2 shelties, BARKING, loudly ! :)
That'll teach that 30s generation to bug me to join em in ...technology ! lol

Hehe, no, he said "kiss the sky". I was just fishing to see if your local bands substituted the words like the ones in my area.
See, at first when local bands played at school functions and at recreation areas, which were the main places to play in smaller cities, they were not allowed to play Purple Haze because of the drug insinuation. But once the oldsters were convinced to allow it, as sort of a dig at them, the bands in my area would substitute the words. It was a joke on them for being too stiff, and they never got it making it that much funnier.

And I went to a Catholic school. Father Neisset never got it, hehehe.

But Father Dan and Sister Mary something did run off together and get married.

Ahh, such good times. :)

Over 60 here, but a way to go to 70.
I live on Siege where we have a surprisingly mature player base. It makes for an interesting game and some provocative discussions on the chat channel at times.
As one vet player and rl senior citizen often quotes: "Youth and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery, mwahaha."

yowsa, I've moved through the age groups twice now. Started at 28 and I am now 41.

I still have a few years left before my hair turns grey. Then I'll look distinguished (hehe).

Bah my dad was too way strict regarding his only daughter. I was past the age of legal adulthood and he would not NOT let me go to Woodstock !

Threatened to disown me even, if I went. So I didn't get out much, to go hear local bands ! Dad cringed when I brung home a Jimi version record, of the Star Spangled Banner. :)

I was slap happy when my mother disagreed with him on 'ladies fashions' and permitted me to wear the then new *mini skirts* which my dad did not want me wearing, at all but I got to thanks to my momma. :)

But Jimi wasn't the only one the MEDIA had issues with. When I was a lil girl this singer was on the [then black and white tv show] called the Ed Sullivan show, that often introduced new singers to the USA. Cameras refused to show that guy from the waist down. He got nicknamed Elvis the Pelvis.

That same tv show, TRIED to introduce this other fella that was way too spontaneous, for THE ESTABLISHMENT ! lol He was just a couple yrs. older than me. Now him I liked a lot, very talented, but sadly, I knew he was on a road to self destruction. Yet to this day I will crank up the volume of many of his songs. When I rl dirtnap, I told my kids to play... his song,
THIS IS THE END, at my funeral ! HAHA

When the teens all went nuts over that group called The Beatles, well they were at first too *bubbly gummy for me* I preferred that other new group that came over from the pond, maybe as a youngster I had a crush on that old guy named 'Mick something' haha and his Rolling Stones. They more suited my musical tastes back then, than them Beatles. I mean cmon she loves you yeh yeh yeh is like nothing compared to.../aint got no satisfaction ! :)

The only chap I know is very close to my rl age, is one month older than me, but he is now on some flakey tv show, lookin for new singing talent !

Meh I guess being on that tv show, is his retirement gig !

I attended a concert few yrs. back that he and his crew were playin at : *sings* Janie's gotta gun ! :)

As the only person with access to actually see who voted what I can tell you that 2 of those were genuine, but the third isn't.

Amazing how small minded some people can be.

Way back when UO was new, and there was no Trammel, I remember meeting this chr. in game who professed to be way older than me at the time. He no longer plays.

This woulda been back on Chesapeake *back in the day* 1998ish.
Anyhow he amused me to no end, back when I was new in UO, & for an old foggie that he claimed to be, he was an inspiration to me.

He used to have to babysit from time to time, his 2 grandkids, he told me.

He taught em how to play Ultima Online, to kinda occupy them when they were in his care. He had 2 win 95 computers, he said back then, one for them to be on, & one for him to use.

When they misbehaved in his care, he used to PK them 2 chrs. over and over again; the same 2 chrs. he'd pk, he said were his 2 grandkids, in game ! He was a trip ! An *inspirational grandpa* !

Age is just a number. Young or old is a state of mind and action. State of mind and actions makes me, hmmm, usually about 25...that piece of paper they gave my parents at the hospital that has very little relevence to the real world says I am 54.
