Ultima Online Charter Edition - Signed by design team.

Hello.

Not sure if I can post here but i will give it a go - I am looking for any information on what a copy of Ultima Online Charter Edition would be worth?

Its the big black box with cloth map - Pin - prints and disc - Never been used and account never activated. The bonus is that it has the autographs of the design team all over it. I bought it on Ebay a few years ago from one of te old design team. Paid $200 for it back then and wondered what people think it may be worth today?

$200 sounded liked a great deal. I won a Sims Online promotional poster autographed by the dev team about 5 years ago when the game was still up and booming. I was offered $900 for it but declined. Seemed like I really should've taken it now :p

That's a shame. Because of the lower shard populations UO memorabilia isn't in as high demand as it used to be. Honestly, it's practically worthless at this point. You might just as well throw it out. But since it has game discs and a cloth map with special ink on it, you need to take special steps to properly dispose of it so it doesn't harm the enviroment.

If you want I'd be more than happy to take care of it for you. Usually a company would charge an arm and a leg to dispose of something like that because of the special handling, but in the spirit of UO (and out of love for mother earth), I'll dispose of it properly for you and not charge you a dime. Just PM me and I'll let you know where to ship it. :D

It is a niche item, and thus would be extremely hard to price with a single number -- a large range is all I could guess at.
It comes down to there would be a handful of people interested in such an item, and how much they would pay.
An auction would be your best bet, with proper advertising on the appropriate places. But start the opening bid too high, and you'll drive people away.

IMHO, I would say if you got $200 for it now you'd be doing well.
More likely it would sell for somewhere a bit lower than that. But again, the nature of these items is you need a proper auction and if you did get at least 2 people determined to buy it, the price could climb a bit.

With the history of MMO games you would never know witch eccentric Developer or gamer would go nuts for that if it was in fact signed by the godfathers of MMO gaming as we know it today.

Anyway, my friend would want to buy it. He currently resides in Nigeria and once he has got his hands on the product you will receive a check of $5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS)...

By the looks of the thumbnail image (what I can make out of it ;)) - most of them! I can count about 22 squiggles anyway, could be more :)

I can definitely see Lord British's sig. And I think that is Raph's on the far left, 2nd from the top if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for the PM's - The offer of 800 million for it was nice but I am getting out of UO. Back to settle some deals and delete UO from my PC.

Had some major RL issues and caring for someone full time now so no UO time.

Would consider parting with this item for the right deal.

Do miss UO alot and miss the old days.

A "regular" charter edition, about $70 to $75 (like this one).

One with the signatures like yours, about $100.

Why not put it on ebay and see what happens? Set your reserve to what you want to get out of it and the rest is just icing on the cake.

Well I will leave it here but if nothing firm comes in by the end of the week I will put it up on Ebay.

Its hard to part with this item but needs must as they say.

Will take a close up picture tonight of the box so you can work out the signitures yourself.

You could probably sell the gold for a pretty penny. I'm guessing you'd get like $300-$400 from that?

Just to answer a previous question I spoke (Via email) to Raph Koster and he confirms its his signiture on the box.

I am very happy its the real deal but will be selling this item to the highest bidder.

UO has had me for 10 years but I think I need to focus on RL issues for a while, everything must go including Virtual and real items.
