Ultima Online and knockoffs

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad English. My question is that on official Ultima Online and unofficial servers. Wear a season wanting to play Ultima Online, I've been looking free unofficial servers and I've been thinking back to the official game and not to do.
There are many kind of free server, but I just wanted those who are more attached to possible official game, and in fact these last are the most populated, but almost everyone agrees put more quests and more content PVE (PVM), it appears that the official online Last fall short in this respect, you who think?

Another thing that catches my attention is the amount of people playing these servers, there is one that ranges between 200 and 400 players, others between 700 and 800 and some exceed 1000 players while the official I almost never have met anyone, because often so empty official servers? What is your opinion and you suggest I do, play in any of these servers or worth giving a chance to the officer?

These are questions that long in my head and I hope your answers enlighten me, thanks in advance and greetings ^^

Free games get players, just a law of the internet. And yeah some free shards do have cool stuff we don't, but they also have issues we don't.

Careful though talking too much about it will get you banned.

I do not want to talk about any particular free server, or advertise any, I have just a few questions and I'm not a veteran player last online, unfortunately.
So I asked here, there are more people who know this game and has more experience.
What little I'm playing the game is falling in love, and I want to know what is the best way to enjoy it and the community is crucial, and I also worry about the future of Ultima Online.
I hope that more veterans are encouraged to leave their opinions.

Try Atlantic. Lots of player there... you will meet some of ultima's finest . As for the free servers I have not even thought of trying them, waste of time. If you want to play the real ultima online game you have to pay the sub and honestly I feel its quite cheap (for example, going to the movies costs you more than playing uo for a whole month).

I have no issue admitting that I've played various free shards over the years. With that said, none of them provide as good a player environment as the official shards.

While the free ones are free, and many of them have done some really fun modifications to the game, ultimately, the player base will determine the quality of the shard.

Unfortunately for the free shards, they usually build a great server (with various rulesets) but the players that show up, are usually the ones that get other players to quit. This ultimately drives populations down to the point that the devs lose interest and ultimately shut the shard down. For those that have survived...they are ok, but nothing that draws me or many other UO fans back, even if that means having to pay Origin to keep playing the game we love...la

There are many monsters to fight. Each new land that was released added new monsters. Depending on the way you play you might enjoy fighting the monsters alone.

You asked about population. If you are more interested in community, ask around here to visit and get to know some groups. For me it is more about community than it is about population. I very much tend to be a solo player, but I enjoy my friends and acquaintances.

I would suggest making a trial account and visiting all the shards and see how they are like during your game play time. Lots of people play at different times.

I don't know what your first language is, but see if there is a fan site for your language as well.

On the bottom right of this page there are links for other languages. I don't know how updated it is.
