Anyone else get a patch for both clients?

EC now says build version 4.0.21.1

CC now says build version 7.0.21.1

Yet nothing on the Herald (not surprising, sadly)

Any of the people who like comparing versions of the string dictionary around?

Greetings,

Publish 73.2 comes to Origin tonight, along with the mandatory patch of the Enhance Client 4.0.21.1 and the Classic Client 7.0.21.1.

Here are the notes for your reading pleasure

Publish 73.2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bug Fixes:
•Balanced will no longer appear on Throwing weapons, and will vanish from any existing throwing weapons.
•Corrected the item property intensity calculations for unraveling Shame loot drops. Lower level items will no longer unravel into Relic Fragments.
•All magic item drops from shame can now be Imbued, even if they have special SA Artifact item properties on them.
•-100 Luck on an item no longer decreases its total weighted item property intensity for purposes of imbuing.
•Imbuing and Enhancing of various item properties onto Shame magic item drops now adds the correct item property intensity.
•Fixed an issue with runic crafting tools that was cutting certain item property values in half when generated.
•Velocity item property values on Shame loot drops were incorrect. These are now generated in increments of 5% instead of 1%, with a 5% minimum.
•Dungeon chests and barrels in Shame now have locks and traps with difficulty and strength appropriate to the dungeon level.
•Fixed a bug with random magic item loot in Shame that was causing item properties to be generated with lower than expected values and with lower than intended caps.
•Small Soul Forges now have enhanced house security: ◦Any small soul forge placed after this publish will remember its owner
◦Only the soul forge owner or the house owner will be able to re-deed it
◦Any small soul forge placed before this publish can only be re-deeded by the house owner

•Fixed a bug with Mannequin security.
•Adjusted the effects of the New Player Token. It will now only last 5 days instead of 7, and party members skill gain increase will be cut in half.

Client Fixes
•Fixed issue when the EC can become unresponsive or even crash when dealing with the visual effect. (Ex. Any spell with massive effects such as the lich howl).
•Fixed EC issue with hueing dynamic objects that don't change position. Navrey encounter
•Updated error message when closing accounts.

What is the new player token? How does a new player get it, what does it do and what does it look like? Anyone know??

Sal it gives a skill gain bonus similar to alacrity scrolls to the new player and any party members. Meant to encourage people to help young players. Is given to a new player when they first log in I believe

EC Bug Fixes are good. The Mod changes are expected (if a little disappointing, but for those that did, be glad you were able to farm a decent amount of Relics). Relics will be rarer but not impossible to get in Shame. I was getting Relic worthy items off of the Flame Elems without relying on Durability XX%, it just won't be nearly as many.

Wonder what was spawning with lower than desired mods though... hmmmm.

Outstanding! Is this the second responsive bugfix patch in as many months?

I know, I know, the purists will insist that these sorts of patches should occur before the reaching prodo. But when has that ever happened in the history of UO? or really when does that happen in modern PC gaming*?

Heck Skyrim has a barely usable menu interface on the PC.

*excluding any titles that have grossed over 1 billion dollars.

I believe the Publish 73 notes said Christmas gifts are to be distributed starting December 1st, so they might be part of today's patch too.

That is so true. They read the threads just selective understanding. Or lack of understanding compounded with lack of game play.

I am not a scripter.
But to be honest I cannot understand how a lot of people found it hard to get relic fragments before shame. Granted, I am talking about relics for personal use and not loads to sell.

There used to be 2 more or less easy ways to get relics prior to shame (and I am not talking of anything illegal here):

1) Simply enhance loot:
Ok, this involves a bit of knowledge and practice to see in a split second if an item will have relic intensity or not once enhanced.
And no, you dont need high monster loot for this. I find loot that can be enhanced to relics in Level 1 T-Maps and on monsters as low as water elementals, trolls and such (you will need to look for the 100% intensity mods on low level monsters).

After 2 or 3 hours of hunting (no matter what I hunt really) I have at least 10 items that will unravel to relics (1 or even 2) when enhanced.
If I do any peerless or champ I will surely find enough items for at least 10 relics (grizzle bows are very often relic quality without enhancing, shields as well).
I actually find relic quality items on the floor at banks from time to time because people do not know what to look for.

But this actually means one has to LOOK at the loot really, people don´t tend to do this anymore.

2) The ML recipe route (usually Knight´s War Cleaver with dull copper but also Guardian Axe with val):
Use a bronze runic hammer and craft Knight´s War Cleaver from Dull Copper (DC ingots are cheap, bronze hammers are also not that expensive, but you need 35 perfect emeralds as well and they do cost a bit). On my shard the cost for the above is around 600K if you buy it all.
Unravelled this will net you around 45 relics per hammer.

How many relics does one need per week? For personal use I mean?
50? 100?
You can make the money to buy a bronze hammer, the ingots and the gems in one hour. And this will give you around 45 relics.
I simply don´t see how this is hard...
If you don´t have a crafter, ask a friend...

The only advantage scripters have (with relics at least) is that they dont need to buy their ingots and probably also their gems. And if they script bods, they will have their own bronze hammers. But thats it really.

I have been making enough relics to actually sell them at a good price in my shop and I am not a scripter...

Hephasitos of Europa

Oh, and don´t worry, shame will still have many items that are relic quality, but now you will need to get them from harder monsters or you will actually need to enhance things from lower level mobs...
