I sincerely hate Oklahoma sometimes. For those of you who don't know, I live in a small college town in OK - and it sucks sometimes. Yesterday/Last night, the temperatures were in the 80's, so I had all the fans going in the house. (Refused to turn on any AC though, cuz c'mon it's FEBRUARY!)Then WHAM! cold front comes through sometime in the wee hours of the morning and it's now 39 outside. I woke up at 6:30 this morning freezing my hiney off. Add allergies to that - so my head feels like a pressure cooker. UGH!

Okay, I'm done complaining now.

I'm sorry you froze your hiney off! If it's any consolation it's raining heavy here today. :yell:

Iowa's no better. Tue and Wed we were almost in the 60s. Yesterday it was 20s. In the morning we had thunderstorms, freezing rain, hail, sleet you name it. In the evening it snowed. All evening. It's 10 degrees out there today. I concur.. it's no wonder I always have a cold.

California....

You have to be a millionaire to buy even a tiny house here but the weather is AWESOME!

Then there's the occasional earthquake but they are rarely an issue (most are small enough to be fun!)

I know, right? I have a cousin who works for the park service up in Big Bear, and the view from their house is amazing! I can't afford it personally though - I own my house here - no payments, and I can't imagine their 2K a month mortgage payment. I guess I will just stick with the crappy weather (we had tornadoes a few weeks ago!) and head colds.

Florida is a topsy turvey weather place but we dont get that low. Last week it was in the 80's this week in the 40's, been doing that for about a month now.

But doesn't the waving wheat sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain?

2k a month mortgage?! Wow, that's really cheap. Seriously. I think I need to win the lottery or something. Anyone know the winning numbers and want to share?

Sean - aren't you a little young to be talking that way? And just so you know - women do not appreciate that sort of phrase and there are a LOT of women on this board...

He thinks because he is behind a computer its okay to say things like that. It just shows more immaturity.

Yeah, seriously, "affordable" houses in CA would run around 4K per month.
Yeah! I was watching My First Home on TLC the other day and they had a target mortgage of $4500-$5000 a month. Where do these people work at? Around here $1,000+ is considered upper class..haha

Here is a fine example of what can be bought here, compared to the crazy city prices. 4 Beds/5 Baths for $615,000. That probably gets you a 1 bedroom condo there!

The only reason Roger (my cousin) has such a cheap mortgage (to him) is because he works for the park service, and is living in one of their homes built in the park. He once told me that they looked at houses out of the park and couldn't afford it. Oh, and, the house will be theirs as long as he works and eventually retires from the park service; if he leaves early for any reason, it reverts back to them. Luckily he loves his job, and has no plans to move.
