It all depends on what you call "useful". I know many people that would consider the new shard wall shields as very useful, even without the added benefit of shard transfer, simply because of the Deco.I do have a question for you. If the Devs allowed the shield to transfer
you to another shard,would you?
Personally NO !
When I make characters in Ultima Online,
I made them so that eventually each one becomes part of the
history & fabric of the shard/s which I chose
to make those characters' lives, live upon originally.
So no, even if they DID permit us to transfer,
my original 1998 characters on Chesapeake, belong on Chesapeake,
and my 4 original 2004 characters on Siege, belong on Siege.
I personally have no use, on either shard, which I play upon,
for that particular 14 yr. vet reward...'cept as possible, deco.
I just want ANY vet rewards which they DO create, NOW or in the FUTURE,
to be of equal value and USE, to ALL of their UO customers alike,
on every shard, from the development phases of said new vet rewards.
Any and all new vet rewards should be created *equally*
from the get go,
and not to the exclusion, ONLY
of one-two of their shards' customer base
in usefulness, as our vet reward, picks.
And I am not even into cross shard trading and selling pixel crack either,
but I can see the usefulness of that new vet reward
being even more useful to cross shard trader$, than the rest of any of us.
I do know though if the dev. team made/created/developed
any new vet rewards, for any of us payin customers, and then said to us all,
[Oh btw this new vet reward/s is NOT USEFUL at all,
for 'only' our customer base, on the ATL shard],
there would be outrage postings; all over this forum,
that one or two shards' vet rewards were created
to the exclusion of, only ATL, or some other shards' vets.
As it is, it is just Siege vets,
possibly Mugen shard,
whom are told that 1-2
of the new created vet rewards,
esp. their 14 yr vet reward pick,
is useless or won't work,
but only, for Siege shards' 14 yr. vets/customer base,
so who cares ?
I care !
