  1. A Samurai character needs parrying but should not carry a shield. Should he/she carry a parrying mastery primer?
2. How many different mastery books can one character carry when he/she has lots of 120 skills: weapon, shield, magery etc. or Spellweaving, Mysticism and Magery, as two examples... Brings on lots of changes (remember M.A.S.H.?

You only need to carry one mastery book. Any Primers your toon uses are set to that toon not the book, however you need to have book to have them active and switch between. You can use parry primer if you wish because you parry with two handed weapons with bushido and parry. Onslaught is the swords mastery special (most samps are swords I think) this allows you to lower the resist of the mob you are attacking according to the damage type of the weapon (100% cold etc.) now combined with double strike this can be very effective offensively and may outweigh the benefits of parry mastery. It's your call in what mastery you wish to run when but there is a ten minute cool down between switching. Also your toon can consume any skill primer without having the skill for it , but it will not be effective until you soulstone the skills for that mastery on the toon, but it primer will always be on that toon should you decide to put the skill on.
