Twisted Glade Champion Spawn

****Hagrid only smirked as Brenda continued to scold Hagrid for the "mistreatment" he brought on his dragon. "I don't care what thou hast to say, thee' man responsible for these wounds on yine' dragon deserved what they got"! Just then Hagrid suddenly realized, was that vile monster indeed a "man" or "male" rather? For a fleeting moment he was captivated by its beauty, just before it seemed to take the shape of whatever it pleased. But...it seemed rather to mimic the changelings found in the area that the large wolfs, known as the Cu Sidhe call home...the Twisted Weald. Maybe the Travesty had indeed been a man. How could one tell after all? This curiosity had to be fulfilled. Taking the reins of the dragon from the very reluctant Brenda Hagrid headed off to the Ilshenar land of Spirituality, and finally to the Twisted Weald.****

I've been told that the Twisted Glade Champion Spawn is now MUCH more difficult since the last publish. I can say that I battled this very spawn before the publish, and after. And it seemed EXTREMELY harder since the update. I believe it took the better part of two hours, if not more to complete. Eventually though, a large group of us did get the champion known as: Twaulo Of The Glade to show.

But again...this was with about 10 - 15 adventurers slaying, dying, battling and burning up a lot of gold in insurance to get him to appear (not to mention the severe lowering of karma). I have to say that the Satyr paragons are an AMAZINGLY difficult opponent to defeat, he makes the rend seem like a small salamander. And then there was the paragon enraged grizzly bears who were able to kill me in 2 hits and the paragon tree fellows with 6,299 hit points were not a walk in the park either.

After a LOT of battling, death robes and bandages, the evening finally concluded with the death of Twaulo.

I don't know if it was the intention of the game developers to make this spawn more difficult...or if it is just my imagination...but my goodness! It seems 50 times more difficult now. Possible, but EXTREMELY more challenging.

****After coming across a handful of changelings Hagrid has quenched his desire to know if Travesty was a male or female. The evening was much more eventful for his dragon though, after tasting the flesh of the champion of the Glade though. What was one to do though? With the challenge of the alter starring him in the face. Certainly though without the help of many people the evening would have certainly ended quite differently. Hagrid headed back to the Hostel that he has come to call home.****

This is one Champion Spawn I have never have done. I may have to see if anyone is doing it Saturday sometime. I always enjoy a new challenge.

That was interesting trying to figure out just how to advance the spawn past the cu sidhe-satyr level (level 3).

The problem is, when you try to kill only cu sidhe, your karma drops like a rock and they take too long to kill. Even if there are 8 people there with dragons. If you try to kill the satyr, they provoke the cu on you (and in one case yesterday, a swoop and a paragon cu. My, that was ugly! I've never seen a dragon drop that quickly), which puts you back to the first problem.

And doing anything but ignoring paragons until there's no more choice is also the best option.

Anyhow, we figured it out.

The funny bit about that was that the moment we finally advanced the number of candles once we hit the cu-satyr level what exactly 5 seconds after we agreed that "after this monster, we're leaving. It's broken!" That monster advanced the spawn.

So, so true. I remember that now. I went to UOguide and submitted a picture of Twaulo and an enraged grizzly since there was not one there. Check it out and let me know if you think they will keep it?

I got a paragon chest from a Cu last night, did anyone get one from a satyr?
