Turning the town treasuries into a bigger goldsink

Currently: The only thing town funds are used for by Governors are the 2m a week for the buffs. The system creates for an even bigger opportunity to create a permanent goldsink in game, it just needs to be utilized.

1. Give the players a reason to donate to the cities
2. Help smaller shards whose governors might not be finding the support/ have trouble funding their buffs
3. Reward players for their REPEATED donations

I have one idea:
1. Use parts of the Clean Up Britannia System for the town treasury
2. Player A Donates 2million gold to Britain, doing so gives player A 2000 points of credit with the town. Credit can be used to purchase new items such as blank pieces of armor + clothing (Just an easy example).

Armor would be blank/max imbue weight (Im also sure someone good with numbers could see what the base resists would need to be on each piece to make them viable for actually using). You would have every armor type, and they would be named: A Platemail Tunic Crafted by the Britain Armory (Ect for each piece of armor).

This would give people an incentive to donate, it would give better unity to the citizens, and people could do whatever they want with it. It would basically be like in WoW introducing items purely for transmogs.

You could do armor, clothing ect. You could also put in new titles such as (Playername the Benefactor of Moonglow) or other such titles like which exist in the loyalty program. You saw plenty of players sink 50m into their Duke titles, why not introduce more and try to take more gold out?

Each town also has a "color" associated with it. Make a new dye thats available, again which would better unite citizens of those cities.

Now, these are just some basic, realistic examples. There are A LOT more things you could add.

You have a good system in place, build on it and make it even more meaningful.

This is an excellent idea Promathia, and its what I originally imagined this new political system would be used for. It shouldn't be limited to role playing experiences and events, but should create an opportunity for citizens to represent their cities in style. Need not even be limited to wearable gear. Could be expanded to encompass add-ons like the city banners for our houses, furniture, among other decorative items, pets and possibly even our ships.

If we utilize and update the collection systems we already have in place such as, but not limited to the Britain (Library), Moonglow (Zoo), and Vesper (Museum) then we can add new ones to Jhelom (Armory), Minoc (Workshop), New Magincia (Garden), NuJelm (Grand Bazaar), Skara Brae (Stables), Trinsic (Shipyard / Banking / Academy), and Yew (Court / Farms / Sanctuary) These are just possible examples, then the citizens of each city can contribute towards what they want, and every city could have its own unique FLARE to stylize themselves. Contributions could go towards new guard towers, new libraries, new NPC shops, and the game could even use existing buildings already in each city that has no role playing function. There are so many empty buildings that serve no purpose, let players invent their new function, build up their cities and create history.

Of course the elected governor and citizens should petition the King at each council meeting to determine the fate of their perspective city. Decide how they best want to implement these changes on their shard. I would think if players were inspired by an opportunity to personalize and make their mark on their own city, they would get more involved. Talking and role-playing isn't enough for the "doer type" mentality among other players.
