Trying to maintain 140 dex for bandage times

Did some research on eval int vs resisting spells and welp, didnt understand the formula.

So can someone tell me how much resist spells I need to keep a 140 base dex if clumsied
from the max 150 dex I can/do have? This is assuming against max eval int spellcaster.

I know 1oo is not enough, but do I have to have 120? Will 110 or 115 do? Or in between?
Hurting on points available.

Only one way to be sure: Try it on TC.
Or maybe someone good at math could tell me what this formula means from UOguide regarding the clumsy spell:

Reduces target's Dexterity by ( (8 + (Evaluating Intelligence) / 10 - (Resisting Spells) / 10 )

Can someone tell me what this means when having 150 dex getting hit by clumsy with 120 eval and I have:

110 resist
115 resist
120 resist

I am horrid at math but tried to figure it out anyway and come up with losing .8 dex which I know is not right.
Please math wiz's?

Well, first something is missing from UOGuides formula, but probably just the close parentheses.

So let's simplify it first. Start with DEX reduction of 8 with zero eval and zero resist. Now add in Eval and Resist.

For 110 Resist and 120 Eval:
8 + (120/10) - (110/10) = 8 +1 2 - 11 = 9

For 115 Resist and 120 Eval:
8 + (120/10) - (115/10) = 8 + 12 - 11 = 9
Here, pretty sure but not positive, 115/10=11.5 and is truncated to 11

For 120 Resist and 120 Eval:
8 + (120/10) - (120/10) = 8 + 12 - 12 = 8

Just to add, with 150 dex you need at least 100 resist against something with 120 eval to maintain 140 dex.

If I remember correctly 120 Mage / Eval vs 120 Resist character means the 120 resist characters BASE stats will drop by 8% Rounding decimals up. Curse only effects BASE stats. Curse does not effect bonus stats from items / spells / consumables.

----------------------------------------------------
Quick Example. 120 Resist Dexxer

+30 stamina Increase on Dexxer Suit
+15 Dexterity on Suit
+30 Dexterity from Pots

So say you want 180 Stamina when all potted up & while under Curse Effect.

180 Stamina means that because your suit has +30 Stamin Inc you Need 150 DEX AFTER being cursed. Since you need 150 dex but effectively have 15 + 30 free Dexterity that isn't effected by curse you need 150 - 45 Dex = 105 Dex AFTER being cursed. To Acheive 105 Dex AFTER being cursed you'd need (0.92 X ) Rnd UP.... .92 x 114 = 104.88 Rounded up to 105 DEX AFTER cursed.

105 BASE dex AFTER curse
+ 45 Dex from pots / items
150 Dex AFTER curse
+30 STam increase
= 180 Stam AFTER curse w/ 150 Dex After curse. (140 Dex is what you needed for Max bandage heal speeds.....)

Anyway... This calculation is useful if you PvP heh... I might have messed up somewhere but I hope you get the idea...

Tested this on TC. With max eval and magery I needed 162 dex and that brought me down to exactly 140 casting clumsy. Also this was on a human character with 0 Resisting Spells, plus the 20 free from Jack Of All Trades. On an elf you would need 164.

I think with 120 resist you would need 152 dex; tested this some time ago so not too sure ;p

edit: just kinda checked before test center went down, you probably need 150 dex with 120 Resisting Spells.
