They made the ore spawns random, same with wood for lumberjacks...where you find iron today might be val tomorrow, and today's valorite vein might be tomorrow's shadow *shrugs* Any set you find would just be for a keepsake...their usefulness would be questionable.
[opinion] This was done to combat some of the recall scripters, but in effect what it did was mostly guarantee scripters job security. Whereas in the past, the casual gamer could hit his rune to gold, and mine a bit of gold, now he has to spend his time recalling around hunting and hoping for a gold vein. Sso therefore, it's even more frustrating for him. The scripter, on the other hand, doesn't rreallly care. He's mining 23/7 on a throwaway account, and he knows if his spot is iron, when he mines it out and comes back it will be something else. Unless this has been redone yet again, and very recently, thats the way it is. An effort to curb scripting gone awry cause it wasn't well thought out...[/opinion]
