Trying to create a refrigerator

Inspired by Ashlynn, I've decided to create a kitchen with black granite counter tops, field stone cabinets, a fountain of life for running water, a forge turned into a stove, and lots of natural light. Everything for the gourmet chef.

What I really need is a refrigerator. Two stacked cherry armoires do look like a fridge, but I can't get the color white. I tried making a set out of oak and staining them white, but they came out light gray.

I thought about using a set of doors, but there would be a gap showing on 1 side of the doors.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

No avocado or harvest gold appliances please!

haven't tried natural stains on them, but with Luna white a trough goes very white, maybe you could stack and chop them?

cherry armoire...isn't that a tad too fancy? how about the plain one? And if you are indeed stuck with grey...stainless steel appliances?

Harvest gold...heh. How about going old fashioned...woodstove and icebox?

and this thread has reminded me of something that I've longed for.... ability to open doors on things that have them to reveal an interior, preferably empty so that we could display items inside

I don't mean you load a container up with 93 items and have them all show when the door is open, the container would still act like the regular container it's been all along, but when the door is opened (and would remain open until shut) items could be raised up to appear that they are sitting inside

course, doesn't help with the armoires and horizontal clothing

Try starting with lighter colored wood containers that are nice and big and boxy. Part of the fridge look might be to have vertical handles for the top and bottom doors. I'd suggest something like 2 silver coin for each door handle, or maybe the switch rubble, something like that. I'm sure there are a couple items that are tiny and would sit right and you could stack them with each other.

Also for the effect might be the black line under the freezer for the shadow - you could do that with a black goza or cloth or something. A little harder is fridge magnets, hehe. Maybe yarnballs with gems floated over?
