One day, a week or two ago, I was in Doom and noticed that a dexxer was using one of the best demon slayer katanas I had ever seen. I was in vent with a guildmate and mentioned the kat. After hearing the description, he not only recognized which weapon I was talking about, but told me who the previous owner had been and when that person had sold it to the current owner (he had been in a guild with the seller at the time). I found this remarkable because it had been at least a year and a half to two years since it had been sold.
This in turn got me thinking about weapons or armor that had a history, weapons and armor that were so unique that in the midst of all these changes and expansions, they were still worth a great deal--in gold and in play value.
I have played a dexxer since I started the game eight years ago and have always been interested in these really unique weapons. Prior to the days of insurance I was reluctant to pvp with my really good items and as a result banked many of them. (For example, I still have a supremely accurate axe of vanquishing with 38 charges of clumsy on it). But some weapons got an incredible amount of play, frequently changing hands.
And so I am curious if any other people on the boards know of unique weapons, weapons that are old but still used today, weapons that have passed down through a long line of players--weapons that have a story attached to it. If you know of any weapons like this, please mention them, I am curious to hear these stories.
