Trpped Chest question please help :)

What trap do you but on the chest so that you can break para I just don't get it. Thanks in advance

A dart trap. Also, the trapped box must face east/west in your pack in order for it to work.

I don't get it, the trap never goes off. just says it is locked. help!

Check over on the Tinker forum.

Make the crate.
Put the Dart Trap on it.
Put the crate with TRAP ENABLED on the floor facing E/W ( the long portion of the crate will go N/S )
Have a GM Mage cast Magic Unlock on the crate.
Pick it up, Keep it in your pack so the LONG PORTION goes E/W
Double click it and take damage.

Be sure to make the trap with a tinker of no more than 40 skill or the damage will be far too high!

Make sure you've got plenty of ingots and bolts because you will fail alot at the low level of tinkering, but its best because you don't want to kill yourself, just break the para.

Im about 28 tinkering and use a +20% tali which seems to keep the damage in the range of 7-10 and means I don't fail too often.

Its good to just get 8 boxes, trap them all, magic unlock them all, then store them so you can use them as and when.

Does this method work so that the box doesn't actually open up when you use it so you don't have to close it to get it off your screen? I haven't spent any time trying to figure out how to make one do that, but I know it's possible.

I take pouches and cast the mage spell on about 10 of them. *VERY IMPORTANT* Make sure the mage casting the trap spell has 0 eval. If not you could end up getting killed in stead of unstuck!

I tried the magic trap with a pouch and it worked horrible. I did this with my human JOAT bonus so 20 mage 20 eval. The box did 20+ dmg each pop to me. The Dart boxes often only to 10-15
