Trial Game Client Download Files Broken

I am attempting to check out the Kingdom Reborn trial on the advice of a friend. I got my instructions here:

http://www.uoherald.com/kingdomreborn/trial/

I've spent over 20 hours downloading the game clients.

First from fileshack and then from gamers hell. The file shack zip was corrupted and wouldn't even attempt to open.

After 6 hours downloading from gamers hell I can expand the downloaded Setup-uokr.rar but when I try to run the Setup-uokr-2.50.3-enu.exe (2,402,470 KB 3/21/2008 10:49 AM) the data10.cab file fails the CRC check and won't expand, thus trashing ANOTHER file that took me forever to download.

Additional the other two download mirrors have older versions of the client (Xfire 2.24.4.2 and GameDaily 2.46.0.3). I'm trying the GameDaily one now so we'll see but it seems that a patch will be needed so my hopes are low.

I must say at this point I am highly frustrated.

Peace,

-D

I didnt have this problem when i download KR, but i know when it first came out it was an issue. if ur on wireless try getting on a had line. that might help.

also you can order a game disk from them for i think just the cost of shipping. I havent actually looked into it but i have heard about it.

Best of luck!

And, since I installed and uninstalled and re installed, etc, IF you want to not have to do that again, take the downloaded file, and copy it somewhere, I use an external HD for music photos and stored files.
Only decompress the one file then, if there is a problem or sometime you need to install it again, you dont ahve to download...just copy the file back onto your hard drive and get going. The CD is so out of date, just doesnt seem worthwhile, when ya can download the game, I did mine overnight while I slept :hahaha:

Patch time, for CD or download, is a lengthy process tho. But no one makes ya sit and watch the downloads come in, do it at night too, or click em to run early am and then go to work, itll be waiting on ya when ya get home.

Then after you play a while, see what there is to see, and uninstall, you will stil have the original file to use if you ever want to get back in KR.

Outdated CDs shipping out, outdated unpatched downloads (where is the logic of that!) along with no improvements in months, is one of the reasons quite a few people do not believe that KR will be around long. The first impression most of the vets got with it were not very good, and talking around my circles most arent giving it a chance to make a second impression.
Unless it becomes a forced option, KR, IMO, will never come close to replacing 2D playerwise, I personally dont think it will ever pass 3d on a consistent basis.

But I digress, on to the next item of business for me, I hope you can make KR work for you and enjoy it!

Try another zip program, the files might not be corrupted.
I had to use 7 zip though winrar said the file was corrupted and it worked.

It's their secret marketing ploy. Make it harder to get than a hacked verson of Window's XP and all the kid's will want it.

One thing I noticed is that my PC wasn't downloading all of the file (I'm on Vista and was using Firefox 2 btw). After a certain size it just stopped...I installed a download manager for FireFox and that took care of my issue...if the transfer dropped I was able to pick it back up where it left off.
