Training Detecting Hidden?

What am I doing wrong? I've tried working it on a trapped chest made by a GM carp/tinker. I've tried working it in the middle of Luna. I've tried working it at Fel Yew Gate. I get to 25.0 in skill and never see a single gain after that. Is there another skill I have to have worked up first? Is my char bugged? Help

Try using a lower skilled trapped box. There are some low level crates that spawn in the Vesper Bank.

I go to Ilshenar to the Twin Oaks Tavern, I think it is called. Down in the basement, you'll find some trapped crates and what not. Try training on that. I train up to GM using those. I haven't, however, trained it since the latest publish so if you continue to have problems, I'll see if I can still train it up.

You better buy over 25 skill from a NPC or it stays stuck. A Thiefs guildmaster is best.

Just get a few tinkerers of different level of skill to make trapped boxes for you then lock them down on your floor in your house and spam detect hidden on them. Maybe skill levels of 25,50,75,and 100.

You know now that I think of it I may have GM'd detect hidden off of a low level trapped box honestly. It was 2 years ago though so I can't be positive.

Here is the easiest way. Join factions and find faction traps. You may have to ask someone in an opposing faction to place some in an out of the way place (and use the low damage traps.) Place like 12 in a small area, all touching. Detect until you reveal them. You are getting 12 skill checks on every detect, so the gains are fast. Once you detect them, step on one, poof they all rehide. Rinse and repeat.
