Trading pets amidst pet training?

I have a level 5 pet with pet training points left on it. Can this be traded to someone else without losing those points so that they can finish the training?

Has anyone tried this?
I´m on Siege so can´t transfer to TC to try it.

I don't know the answer - but you could create a tamer on TC, tame a pet, put it through the training gates till it reaches your target condition, then try to transfer it to someone?

That´s a great idea!
Forgot about those gates in Britain(?). Will hopefully try that during the day and post back here with the result. Thanks!

I've purchased a few pets from sellers in Magincia stables that were not fully trained and had points left to distribute.

Yup.
Just tried Petra´s suggestion on TC and it worked. The second tamer could continue the training where the first tamer left off. I tamed a Cu and took it to level 5 with 801 points left. After I traded the pet it still had those 801 points and the second tamer could start using them.
