Tracking needs to be tweaked a bit IMO

So, I'm currently training a tracking char on siege, and there's a couple issues that I have with it.

I feel that either the timer needs to be lowered, or when you track players, it needs to list all trackable players around you (even those in animal form) because as of right now if you want to track a player in animal form you need to track animals... which is fine, but the players name does not show up, it only lists the name of the animal form they are in (IE: llama, etc.)

If the timer were to be lowered I would be able to search for players, and then animals more easily, but as it is now, i have to sit around for 20 seconds just to make sure there are no players around me.

OR an alternative to lowering the timer would be to have tracking players actually track players instead of having to wait for the timer, it makes it a little difficult because in the heat of the moment I basically have to decide if I want to track a player, or cross my fingers that someone is in animal form if i chose animal tracking, because there isn't enough time to do both before the player leaves my range.

Thanks for your input!

Generally, tracking goes hand in hand with experience; if you know the person you are tracking, it helps your speed and selection. Most PvPers will stick to llama/wolf (animal) form before they set out their attack back in human/elf form, while thieves tend to be a bit more random and will cue monsters more often due to more space for ninjitsu.

Depending on your query, it also helps to enhance your tracking by casting area spells like earthquake and throwing down poison fields, assuming the person you intend on finding would be revealed, or could be revealed, or flushed, by these actions.

Tracking does have a long wait, but once you get it off, it is pretty valuable on a niche character. To be a useful tracker (tracking plus detect hidden) you do give up a lot, but that's just the way it is; every Sherlock Holmes needs a Watson or two beside them to get the job done ;P (shamelessly endorses the Guy Ritchie flick while I'm at it).

Also, think about this: you can track someone while you are hidden. Could use this to your advantage as well.

The tracking timer is a long one. It's a really fun template to play though when you're with a group. The stealth archers used to hate it when I brought out my detective. Not only were they constantly being revealed and hunted down, but my mage-detective also ran with 110 parry, 85 dex and 45% DCI. Nothing funnier than the "tink, tink tink" of an archer missing 3 or 4 times in a row before he's dropped by your friends. This was when the ninja dogs could still shoot too.

Yeah I totally understand that it is definitely more of a support skill, but I just wish when you select to track players, it would track all players instead of having to cycle through players, and animals, etc. :(

Maybe one day! hah *sigh*

Plus if someone is in animal form you have to use the animal option to track them. But yet if someone is in wraith form they show up under players instead of monsters. Also how exactly would you track a wraith ghoul or spectre? Since they don't touch the ground and leave no tracks to track. And why wont champs show up on track? I tried tracking Riktor and baracoon and neither would show up on track even when they are on the same screen.
