The last she heard, Tarisber had finished aiding Trinsic with their Grey Wolf problem and decided to go on some much-needed R&R. However, as each day passes, she fears the worst may have happened… it is unlike Tarisber to be gone so long without notice.
Kesarra, determined not to give up hope, makes her way up to Tarisber's room at the top of the lodge, hoping to find some clue to his whereabouts. She riffles through various parchments on his desk, but none seem to provide any helpful information. She sits down at Tarisber's desk and lets out a long, drawn-out sigh of frustration.
Just then, something catches the corner of her eye. Kesarra sees a rolled-up parchment tucked into the nearby bookshelf. It appears to be lavishly adorned with colors and drawings. She unrolls the scroll onto the desk and begins to read. It appears to be an advertisement of some sort, something about a "once in a lifetime opportunity" to tour the world by sea. It indicates that interested parties should head to "The Majestic Boat" in the city of Vesper. "It's a start", Kesarra says to herself as she leaves the Lodge and begins to travel to the city of Vesper.
It is several days into her journey, and Kesarra is making her way around Loch Lake and through the Covetous pass. She looks out over the Lake and notices some odd wreckage along the shore. Loch Lake is notorious for pulling in wreckage, as the currents naturally flow into it. However, there is something about this wreckage that catches Kesarra's eye. There is a torn sail flapping in the wind that appears to have a similar logo as the parchment she saw in Tarisber's cabin.
Kesarra detours her caravan to investigate the wreckage. Hopefully it is just a coincidence, but she can't help but feel a sinking sensation in her stomach as she draws closer to the wreckage. It is clear to Kesarra as she arrives that this wreckage was not caused by a storm, or even pirates. Something, a very large something at that, seems to have attacked the ship. There are strange markings along the wreckage, including what appear to be bite marks from a humongous mouth.
"This is not good", Kesarra thinks to herself as she rummages through the wreckage, hoping for something useful. The sun glints off of something in the wreckage and Kesarra begins to dig it out. It appears to be a bottle with parchment inside of it! Kesarra smashes the bottle open in desperation, unrolls the message and begins to read:
"To whomever receives this message, our ship is under attack by an unknown creature. I fear these are my final moments and I wish to share with you my most treasured and guarded secret. You are now entrusted with this knowledge and I hope you will use it wisely…"
"Are these Tarisber's last words?!" she thinks to herself. "Did he know his end was near and is desperately trying to preserve his knowledge?!"
Kesarra continues to read:
"2 ½ cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp honey
2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
½ tsp vanilla extract
Mix together and place in a very warm oven for…"
"Oh bother", Kesarra exclaims. It's just a stupid recipe… although it does sound rather delicious… Kesarra rolls the scroll back up and places it into her belt for "safe keeping".
Continuing to dig through the wreckage, Kesarra slowly discovers more clues as to what may have attacked the ship. Parts of the ship are very slimy and covered in a mucous like substance. "Very odd that this has not washed off by now", Kesarra thinks to herself… "this is some nasty stuff…", she also finds several giant scales among the wreckage, unlike those she has ever encountered before. "Judging by the size of these scales, this creature may have been larger than the boat itself!"
Suddenly Kesarra's eyes widen in horror as she sees something in the wreckage… something she is very familiar with and would never mistake… it is Tarisber's Hunting Bow, she would recognize it anywhere. Her worst fears are confirmed… this was the ship Tarisber was on… He must have tried to defend the ship when it came under attack. "Even when on vacation he brings his bow", she laughed to herself, before becoming overcome with grief again… "I must continue on to Vesper, maybe they know more…"
Kesarra arrives in Vesper and heads to "The Majestic Boat", but it is completely empty, as if no one has been there in weeks. "This is very strange", she thinks to herself, "I better speak with the Governor". Kesarra heads to the Governor's office to meet with Violet Darkthorn, Governor of Vesper. Kesarra explains the situation to Governor Darkthorn. Violet explains that the owner of "The Majestic Boat" often runs these "Tours of Sosaria" himself, and leaves behind his brother to manage the shop when he is out. She continues to explain that one of the ships was long overdue to return, so the brother went out looking for it, but hasn't been heard from since.
"I fear it is the Giant Sea Serpents", Violet says.
"Giant Sea Serpents?!", Kesarra responds.
"Yes, we have been getting constant reports of Giant Sea Serpents appearing near the coast. Their natural food source appears to be diminishing, so in desperation they have begun attacking ships that pass through the area.", Violet explains.
"That would explain the wreckage I saw on my way here", says Kesarra, "Is there nothing that can be done?"
"I would gladly reward anyone that is able to drive the Sea Serpents back and stop them from attacking travelers", Violet explains, "however, Vesper currently does not have the means to accomplish this. Our guard force is currently diminished as we have had to relieve many guards from duty due to issues with a mysterious figure bribing them near the stables."
Kesarra looks at Tarisber's bow she recovered from the wreckage and knows what must be done… for it is what he would have wanted. "I will do this for you", Kesarra says, "I have the resources to get this done for you."
"Thank you!", exclaims Violet, "You don't know how relieved I am to hear that!"
Kesarra nods as she heads back to her caravan. She pulls out a piece of parchment and addresses it to "The Ranger's Guild of Nidaros, for immediate release", and begins to write…

The bonus hunting location for this challenge is "An Ocean Near Vesper". If your permit is the winning permit, and it is from the bonus location, you will win an extra reward.
To participate, obtain a Hunter's Permit from The Huntmaster located in the Ranger's Guild outside the City of Skara Brae. Click on The Huntmaster and choose the menu option for "Get Hunting Permit". Permits cost 5000 gold pieces each, which will be deducted directly from your account balance. You may carry as many permits on you as you want.
After acquiring your Hunting Permit(s), head out to water and locate a Sea Serpent. Sea Serpents can be located in various locations ranging from Oceans, Shores, and even Dungeons! Once you have slain a Sea Serpent, double-click the hunting permit in your backpack, then target the corpse of the Sea Serpent to record the kill. You can review the stats of your kill by mousing over the permit.
If you are happy with the stats of your kill, return your permit to any mailbox at the Nidaros Hunting Lodge. You may enter more than once!
Note: To be eligible, all permits must be dated in October or November 2018 and they must be turned into a Mailbox before the final collection is made at the close of the contest. We will not be accepting late permits.
Collecting Your Rewards
At the close of the contest, after all the kills have been tallied, we will have a brief event where we announce the winners of the contest. The event date will be announced at the close of the contest.
You must be present at this event to receive your reward. If you are unable to attend the event, just send me a message (In-Game, Stratics, or Discord) and let me know and we will make other arrangements for you to get your reward.
If you do not attend and do not make an effort to contact me, it will be assumed you do not want your reward and it will be added to the prize pool for the next challenge.

Kesarra picks the lock to the door of the Nidaros Hunting Lodge and slowly opens it, a somber sight as it lays dark and dusty. It once had high hopes to become a bustling scene of hunters from all over Sosaria, sharing their tales and partaking on new adventures. From October 23rd (when patch goes live) until November 30th @ 11:59pm EST, anyone that turns in a completed hunting permit marking the kill of a Sea Serpent will be automatically entered in for a chance to win various prizes.
The recorded kill with the Heaviest weight will be declared the winner. See below for prizes and additional ways to win.
The bonus hunting location for this challenge is "An Ocean Near Vesper". If your permit is the winning permit, and it is from the bonus location, you will win an extra reward.

You may also take the Public House Teleporter from the SW [CAH] house, which will take you to the Nidaros Hunting Lodge. From there, it is a very short run West to the Ranger's Guild:
