What the hell was Mason thinking?
The Cross of Valour was supposed to be for the Cove Guards, NOT for miscellaneous people who arrive in Cove to help out! The fact that Mason has requested that she present the Cross to John bothered her tremendously.
Raelyn deserved the award, but John..?
She sighed.
Since Mason already posted the information, there was nothing she could do about it. She would have to put on a smile and present the award to John, whether she agreed or not.
The townspeople were looking forward to Mason’s report. There was a sense of excitement in Cove.
The fact that others will be at the meeting also helped the Cove economy.
Since she had taken over as Captain of the Cove Guard, there had been no one to handle duties as Emissary. Melody made a mental note to speak with Mason about a new Emissary.
In the meantime, there was work to do to get the town ready for the festivities this evening.
