Tornado Update

Hello everyone... I'm not sure if everyone is aware or not that I am from Alabama.... The tornados that came through Wednesday evening destroyed so many places near me. I amd my family are all safe thank goodness, but still feeling the effects of the storm.

North Alabama has been without power since Wednesday but some places are slowly beginning to get it back again... My home still is without so I am staying with my daddy since his came back on. I will be here with some internet access untill I can go home to electricity :O) I hope to see everyone with my limited time online....

I just hope I am able to catch enough whopper fish to atleast compete in the tournament!...

Glad you are ok. Those storms were horrible. I hope you get power back soon.

I just moved from Tuscaloosa to Iowa about 4 months ago myself. I am still based out of Tuscaloosa for work so all my friends and coworkers are there (I was actually scheduled to be back in T-town tomorrow ... that wont happen). Glad to say that even with a reported 500 still missing in T-town, none are among my coworkers or friends.

I too am glad you are alright. We have had 30 reported dead in this state, or combo us and Tenn. since we are right on the border. The amt. of tornado sirens for those past few days and nights was unbelievable, bout the time ya begin to calm down when the siren stops, another one set off blaring and another and another.

I was wondering if there is some peculiar post traumatic stress syndrome related to too many tornado sirens going off during the days and nights for like 4 straight days/nights running !!

It was horrible here but apparently it all picked up even more strength and steam as the tornados and wind sheer fronts moved n/ne from here MS/TN area, all headed towards Alabama !

We ended up with water in our den from flash flooding but not too deep, and someone's maple tree parts in our back yard but we are also ok, & our power is still running ! Now our worries stem around the flooding that will yet occur with this weekend's rains since the Miss. River is way too high now as it is and all it's nearby tributaries. The Tunica Casinos have already evacuated all their customers, one county south of here, those casinos are all on the riverfront.

Whom else do we have on Ches. that lives in Alabama ? We need to try to find out if they are ok etc. too.

thanks for the well wishes everyone... I think there is a post traumatic thing goling on here actually... I'm the baby at 45... me, my step sis at 47 and step bro at 50 all have crashed at the parents house... my dad and their mom are laughing cause they can't get none of us to leave, though they both are really secretly thrilled to have their chicks clucking around them

Power came on Sunday morning and internet is working today.... YAY for the Utilities workers!!
