Today the Wispwood Guild Tower turns 10

Not sure exactly how old CWS is, but today the guild tower that holds the stone was placed 10 years ago. I believe the guild pre-dates the tower as I was told a L-shape was originally in its spot.

I had graduated college a few months back, and probably just learned of a game called counterstrike and finally picked up a copy of ultima online. Once I found out about those two games, heh....

Hmmmmm I`m pretty sure I was sportin a bad ass mullet and my liver was probably twice its size due to alchohol absorbtion.

Two things I`m glad I grew out of, although..... I do sometimes miss the old mullet,lol.

Back than I played Pacific on 56k with a 300+ ping and even had a Siege toon that was red,think his name was Vapor.Had a small cottage on the lil tip north/east of Yew bank. Ahhh those were the days,lol.

Wow an historic landmark on Siege ! 10 yrs old today.

Ten years ago for myself, I was one of the guilds defending PaxLair felucca whom were our neighbors and watching my guild disintegrate because of the arguements over whom in our huge guild would go trammel and whom would remain in felucca.

In the end, my then guild the original PE and other player run towns on Chesapeake were torn asunder with UO's new cd Ren, cuz 2000 split a UO community,guilds and player run towns all to shreds via a felucca and trammel.

PaxLair, player run town hit 12 yrs old this Jan. on Ches. is still standing some of those buildings,
but what I loved about UO was gone forever, destroying community, with the advent of a mirror image of land called trammel somewhere along the way 10 yrs ago in 2000.

Soooooo it may have taken till 2004 for me to try to come back over here, but community in one ruleset, on Siege was why I stuck around. I was in 04, part of WC with KSS and CWS and enjoyed and miss us all still.

We need to try recapture that diverse community again HERE, before totally giving up on Siege or we got nowhere else to go !

My UO mentor and rl son quit UO perma like, with the advent of trammel, and he never came back to play after trammel was created.

He bought me UO in 98, just for us to hang out together while he was all over the world away from home, in the USN.

My Joesef the miner here was HIS first acct. chr. on Siege back in 2000. I run Joesef now.

Well 10 years ago I was a citizen of Catskills and would never think of playing on Siege. But Siege seems to me to be the only place in UO with an active player economy and therefore interaction between players.

*coughs* I didn't think of getting divorced, but my chars were a bit flighty at the time. About 6 months after the wedding Tam ran off with Lord DaEvil...long story *grins*

Famine still has the engraved rings we got from the Seer at his museum I think.

I was there when it went down! I placed the other houses in the clearing after Grot dropped the tower down. Quite a bit of plannign went into the timing of all that so NONE of the spaces would be lost to outsiders.

Yes the guild house was a 2 story L-shape for a long time. and before that it was two small wood shacks; one owned by Grot the other by spart and I.

Nay, I was here On SP from day one, it was madness and i loved it Newbs turning red every day.I left to write a book on Hermetic philosophy.Then I started working for my self as a body guard for escorts and then opened an escort service, instead of running the girls, i booked them instead of going out all hour's of the night. and then i came back to the game in early 2006, then quit playing and joined the Army, then got hurt and now Im here wondering what Im going to do now.So no it was was just real life caught up with me.
