To those that made newbie chrs for the SL event

To those who made newbie characters on other shards to go and try to get rubble... starting your character with stealth/hiding and went around in rat form trying to stay away from the PvPers so you could get rubble on another shard...

First off, congrats of thinking of a way to attempt to get items.
Second, for those that did it on Baja. I'm sad that some of you resorted to name calling because we kept PKing you.

Talk about a **** poor attitude. Do you just expect people to let you sit there as a newbie just so you can get rubble on a shard you don't even play? You did realize it was a PvP event right?

I'm glad my guildmate went around tracking you guys, and my other guildmate PKing you guys.

Listening to my mates on vent, apparently one of you called her a very offensive name, and were shortly killed thereafter. And she thanks my buddy.

One person even said Baja's Faction SL event was the worst there was...what do you expect? Making a newbie character on somebody elses home shard, do you expect us to 'let' other people willingly take items that could be ours?

I don't know if it was like this on any other shards... But we had some foul mouthed newbies there. It's quite sad to see that people got so butthurt over an event, on a newbie character.

What people will do for items...

Oh, and on other shards did SL defend the island at all? On Baja we had maybe 3-4 SL show up... most of them newbies from other shards... and the SL that were on were put into stat before the event even started. Just curious how things ended up on other shards.

The things people do for items...

I remember when Magincia was being destroyed, people were actually paging against those who tried to save it, literally on the basis it was cheating them out of their rubble.

Unfortunately these things happen, players invading other shards to grab things. Remember the AoS launch where by the end of day 1 Half of the Malas housing on The European shards was owned by players from outside Europe....placed to sell?

i had to friggin work the time when it was on baja so i even more pissed that people from otrher servers did that, and Baja is my home server

Same thing happened on Pacific with the "Broken Crystals". 3-5 players on newb chars form other shards grabbed up about 75% of the crystal's (Only 40 per shard) then right after they got them, started spamming them for sale for 20m ea! Wasn't very impressed. Considering we did all they fighting and res'ing while they reaped the rewards.

Did Baja even finish the event??

Last i heard you guys didnt kill clanin and didnt recieve any of the good rewards (the rewards you cant get by making a newb char), maybe if your chars had focused on killing clanin first (if there were only 3 of you, you all would have got clanins book) and then worried about the hiders (oh FYI you cant make a char with stealth as you need 70 or 80 hiding...so even in rat form you cant stealth)

OMG I had forgot about that. We got the publish of AOS first before the US and yea that was the worst launch in the history of mmo's I think. Yes all the american players came over and placed houses and then where trying to sell them for geez back then could it have been 20 mil plus. You could not log in for them slamming our server. GRRR

I think one of the worst things UO ever did was make xshard xfers. I mean sure people should be allowed to move servers but their stuff should be bound to their char. All this xshard trading and moving rares to other servers from the original servers to sell, going to other shards to get items in events and bring back to sell is kinda out of hand now.

Always has and always will, aint such a big deal in my opinion people want stuff that bad let them...the stuff is usually just deco anyways (cept spell book which they couldnt get without killing clanin)

on Europa the SL were killing each other in the secrete SL room even during her talk. Then at Trinsic no one seemed interested in the story behind the event, just an excuse for a PvP meet. Melissa had to kill Clainin in the end, I found it a PvP exercise rather than an event.

I was just wondering because if Baja actually finished the event themselves they would have received the spellbooks and clanins cloak...i have seen numerous threads stating there were none so i assume that means mellissa had to finish the event and you were all too worried about killing some newb chars.

The event on GL was great fun!! Lots of PvP lots of good loot!

Dude.. we had fun, we defended Clainin. We formed a temporary truce between the 3 other factions which actually lasted through the event. We chose as a shard to defend him instead of killing him. We killed SL's that showed up. We tried to kill Melissa, but she was protected. We killed peeps who came to the shard to loot the event and take the items to different shards. In fact we killed any toon that didn't have their guild tag showing, to prove they were Baja residents. Did a few select people get the spellbooks? Who knows.. no one has said and since they didn't rain down from the heavens for us to scoop up like little pixel skittles no one will know for certain. We had fun! We had community spirit. We stood together and we accomplished our goal. We didn't fight off the shadowlords so that we could be selfish and kill him ourselves just for the little pixel candy. Peeps who don't play the shard, and/or came to loot our shard didn't get what they wanted... too bad.. there's plenty of shards for you to play on.. OUR shard did it our way and we had fun... frankly I could care less if someone's greed wasn't satisfied during this event on Baja. The beauty of the game, is that peeps can play wherever and however they want. On Baja, that actually has meaning.

What a clear view of how each shard has a different tone to it. We've use Baja as an example of a shard that stood together as an event to defend Clainin. On Atlantic Minax took out SL's and anyone else, so they could kill Clainin for the special pixel candy loot. Other shards have reported factions which took control of the town sigils early, placed traps and emptied their treasury in order to place NPC guards all over... what a great thing this diversity is!

No Rich, we didn't 'finish' the event how it was 'supposed' to turn out... I guess.

I realize that it's like this on most shards for just about any event like this... I just find it annoying that people were complaining about what we were doing. Killing them.

It's childish that someone feels the need to start name calling because they're getting killed... on a newbie character ...at a PvP event.

Who cares if nobody got the spellbook... if it is indeed Faction only, I doubt many people would use it outside of Trammel or for house deco.

Most of the faction mages use mage weapons from what i've seen.

As Yalp stated... it was really fun. And sad at the same time, the few SL that were on were in stat before the event even started. I was expecting a mass fight... which didn't happen.

The community of Baja formed an alliance against SL, not because of storyline mumbo jumbo... but because we all share the same level of hate towards the SL on our shard. They're the kind that use those special proggies to make them 'better'. So we unite to kill the greater evil

I did get 9 points from those that did show though...

On Baja, I know that my guild got at least 15 or so of the rubble... not sure how much was dropped. I myself got 4. Looted a piece from a newbie who made a chr for the event :gun:

If you wanted a different "ending" maybe you should have PM'd everyone the manual on how you want this game played.. on every shard.. for every event. Next time.. be sure to send it out BEFORE the event, so we don't offend your delicate sensibilities..... oh.. and I'm still waiting for your check to cover my game fees.
