Do I have To be a sampire to solo the peerless and big bosses?

Can i just go with the traditional parry bush pally.

I always see people about hteir sampire, and i dont feel like aquiring the midnight bracers ect. mark of travesty and what not.

Because if im training up this temp just to Epic Fail, then i needa rethink something

Actually, I was reading up on that a few weeks ago. While I am building a Sampire. Someone had posted in a sampire thread about their Samurai build. They didn't want to use Necro either and were able to solo the bosses fairly well. The short answer is no you don't have to be a Sampire or even a Whammy to kill the big bosses. The long answer is to go search through the Sampire threads until you come across a post that mentions a guy doing bosses without Necro. I wish I could give you the thread but I don't have it. So unless someone else does...let your fingers do the walking. :) Good luck you'll find it. Hint....I think its an early sampire post and the answer is within the first few pages of that post. HTH......

I don't know how effective you would be without Necromancy. I know that Doom used to be done by Baghdaddy a long time ago without it, but then, it was a long time ago. Before the evasion thing, which probably helped a ton.

You don't need necromancy to have an effective samurai. You can do most of the same things without it.

However, it will unneccessarily add a layer of difficulty to the highest ends of encounters.

Also, if you ever hunt with other people, then go the healing route. Cross-healing > life leech.

There's a chap who solos Travesty and due to Travesty's mimicing tendencies he kept his necro skills <= 50 so he's obviously not a sammy and barely a whammy. His feedback is he is successful only 30% of the time but only due to "lacking the right weapon".

Why not jump on test centre you have virtually unlimited runic hammer/kit usage and can meticulously test equipment/skill/technique combinations against different bosses and keying for yourself. Then keep the finer points of your hard earned knowledge to yourself without being completely unhelpful to others ;)

The variety is what makes UO rock so embrace that complexity it's far better than the bog standard prescribed templates you need to run in many popular mmo's.

Just my 2 cents. I solo peerlesses fairly often, I've never died to DH or Paroxy. I have 0 Necro.
Very broadly speaking, only once or twice in each fight do I drop below 60 HP.

120 Bushido
120 Macing
120 Parry
100 Anatomy
100 Tactics
90 Healing
70 Chivalry

Only eaten a +20 stat scroll, with gear on I'm at 119 str, 125 dex and 45 int. Not particularly good at all.

My suit is full resist with

27 HCI
59 DCI (overcapped to compensate for Divine Fury. I swing quite slow so keep it up at all times)
104 DI
1 FC
MR 5
HLD 30
LMC 37

I use a diamond mace with

51 HLL
51 HML
30 SSI
plus DCI and DI already included above

Ride an armoured swampy, take 5-10 greater agility/str pots, I carry 60 greater cure to be on the safe side, 30 or so total refresh, a handful of greater heal. Enc. apples can be really useful as well, if you can't get Remove Curse off.

I guess the point is that a decent suit with an average player can solo peerlesses easily without necro. I say start at DH and work up from there.

I have to see it to believe it...especially with a weapon without stamina leech
