Am I the only one concerned about how many cursed arties are on siege now?

I'm already seeing a lot of people pvping in cursed artie suits. Reminds me of fighting on any other shard. Think they will spread out till people don't have so many to lose? Or will these arties just keep changing hands and always be a part of siege pvp suits for the future?

P.S. I do think they have done a decent job with the event which makes me rethink some of my recent comments about the devs.

I think this is a great thing, and I wish they had done it sooner. Hopefully there will be enough cursed artys out that people won't lock them all up as collectables. I know I won't. I just filled up my barrel with 125 of the AoF's, Staffs, Hats of the Magi, Ornys, Shadowdancer Leggings, and Arcane sheilds. Although Shadowdancer leggings, Staffs, and Arcane sheilds are probably the only thing I'll really pvp with, and certainly not in Luna. The others I will use more for PvM purposes.

Hopefully others have amassed similar stockpiles. I look forward to looting you all in the near future =]

I think it's a great thing too. You don't have to farm for hours to get them. It can be done easily by everyone even the casual players. The items themselfs make great money or nice outfits for pvm or pvp.

I love it, no need to worry. I hope it stays permantly this way!

I think cursed arties are horrible and will make PvP yet more item-based. Arties in general, minor major or anything else, are a horrible idea. To pollute the game with more of them instead of destroying them...wtf?

But the trammies, both in trammeland and on Siege, love their eye-candy, and the devs certainly don't like to disappoint when it comes to making the game more item-based.

unfortunately its what the general populace want.... I have a few pieces of eye candy but I was not expecting the tidal wave of arties

They gave people rubble. They could have just stuck to items not useful in PvP. But they had to continue with the overpowered arty crap

I wish they were all gone, but as it is since they are here I prefer plenty for all.

If everyone has them it will at least be fair, maybe not as fun but fair.

You ignore the fact that not everyone will have them.

Some people say "hey....arty crap, better loot, etc., isn't making PvP more item-based! It's making PvP less item-based since more people will be using good items compared to the fewer amount of people that were using good items before!"

You, and so many others, don't take into account that, guess what, not everyone is going to be using the better items even if they're easier to get. If say we go from 5-10% of the PvP population using good-uber items as throwaways in PvP and that number jumps to, idk?, 20-30%...does that mean PvP is less item-based because now more people are using good items and therefore competing more on equal ground with the people that were using good items before but who were until now much fewer in number?

The answer is absolutely NOT. Because you are NOT taking into account the other 70-80 or whatever percentage it is and will be that do NOT use the uber items in PvP and in fact PvP because MUCHHHHHHHHHHH MOREEEEEE ITEM-BASED since these people are now not being put a disadvantage in PvP against only 5% of the population who use better items but now it's 25%.

The items do NOT make PvP less item-based. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE PVP NON ITEM-BASED IS TO GIVE EVERYONE THE EXACT SAME SUIT WITH THE EXACT SAME MODS OR TO NOT HAVE THESE HIGH QUALITY UBER [censored] ITEMS. Simply giving a greater percentage of the population uber items than the smaller percentage before this event is NOT making the game less item-based.

I for one am NOT looking forward to people using more good [censored] in PvP. The solution is NOT and NEVER was more the solution is LESS but 99.99 % of trammel land refuses to lose their precious candy [censored] to make the game a better place and 99.9% of Siege refuses to lose their precious candy [censored] to make the game a better place. Each day that pass in this game I hate it more and more. WHY THE HECK CAN'T DARKFALL COME OUT ALREADY.

Go back to trammel or quit like most of the trammy factioneers who played factions just for their stupid item [censored]. A FACTION SYSTEM THAT OFFERS OVERPOWERED [censored] LIKE BLESSED ITEMS AND MONSTER IGNORE AS INCENTIVES TO PLAY IN IT ALWAYS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A BROKEN ONE.

They aren't difficult to get. I have been out there fighting/collecting arties a thief/mage template with detect. I've been there probably less than 10 times in total and have 50+ cursed arties. That's not a lot compared to the numbers I've heard from other's.

I've already lost 2 or 3 cursed arties in faction fights. Anyone who does any PvP, will have access to these. They are being worn as throw-away equipment. I've looted a few on my thief in pvp battles as well.

The developers created cursed artifacts so that they be lootable.
People on Siege Perilous wanted this. Please accept your original reaction to
this event was positive. Your first reaction was correct. Your second was
you wondering that you may be harm in some way by the availability of items
that you may not have access to! This is nothing new. The same people who
had uncursed artifacts will have these artifacts too.
True enough Magincian event was dominated by large groups, and individuals
problably never got that many cursed items. But, you can buy them!
Just ask the Monopoly merchants for their price for them.
It is the shopping season!

I still say it would be worse if you only got one a hour or so making it where only the 5-10% had them. Everyone has a chace at least now to have some.

I still prefer the old version of the game less item dependant and more on team work.

First choice would be none, second choice would be more over less if that makes sense.

lol i love how we have been conditioned to THINK OF THESE BIG LETTERS AS YELLING, as compared to regular lowercase letters being normal talk. When in actuality a sentence is considered "yelling" when an exclamation is found at the end! Now thats yelling sir.

Where to begin!

"You ignore the fact that not everyone will have them." You are correct, not
everyone will have them.

"You, and so many others, don't take into account that, guess what, not everyone is going to be using the better items even if they're easier to get."
This is also true, but it assumes that everyone will want the uber items to
do pvp! You do not need uber items to do PvM!! If fact you do not need
GMed crafted items to do PvM!! The Magincian event artifacts really are not
that important.

THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE PVP NON ITEM-BASED IS TO GIVE EVERYONE THE EXACT SAME SUIT WITH THE EXACT SAME MODS OR TO NOT HAVE THESE HIGH QUALITY UBER [censored] ITEMS.
OR!!! Just stop playing the Arms Race game! Play different templates and
chose different ingame goals, not just pvp as the only game inside this game.

"The solution is NOT and NEVER was more the solution is LESS but 99.99 % of trammel land refuses to lose their precious candy [censored] to make the game a better place and 99.9% of Siege refuses to lose their precious candy [censored] to make the game a better place."
Siege Perilous is not Trammel, stop comparing Trammel to Siege Perilous, this will
improve your stress. You look at items as the problems, I look at players'
behavior as the problems. But, many players would indeed be surprised what
I consider is bad behavior!

"WHY THE HECK CAN'T DARKFALL COME OUT ALREADY."
You be switching one problem for another with nothing learned.

Its gonna help mages a lot again but other than that i like it, i dont see a big problem and it gives a new spread of items that you can loot and sell fairly quickly.

I'm still going to run the same gear I do... the same gear I don't have to. I pvp in gm suits and crap items and do fine... hell... I'll welcome the challenge.

I'm glad we're pvm'ng again... they really need to fix PvM for us if we really want to see people out there hunting [censored]... it's what siege is really missing.

Hmm...so how do you propose players should be encourage to play factions in the modern item based society? Perhaps the capability to craft special items is EXACTLY what we need...on the condition that they are NOT blessed and decay when captured by other factions.

Suprisingly, I think I've been pretty lucky. Considering the number of times I was pk'd, my last count was just over 350 arties and I've already started trading ones I don't use for those useful to me. I'm just not sure I want anyone, including myself, to have several hundred of these on Siege.

The fact they are cursed is negated by the sheer number of them. Assuming I loot about as many as I lose, I could be pvping in what I consider a Trammy suit for a loooong time. Now I can easily run an ecru ring on my mage because I can always be wearing an orni, and a hat of magi, and.....wait maybe I'm confusing it with my pvp suit on Atlantic, Origins, TC, etc.

Bottom line.....isn't there is a reason we only want to have ONE blessed item on Siege?

Actually i just dont see why you guys are even crying about these artys at all, because heres whats gonna happen, most of you guilds who do any pvp will wear maybe one of them out and die to someone else and you wont wear any other artys out. KoC will be wearing full arty suits and when one of us die you will do just like you do with our nice armor and lock it down in your house to show off to your friends the nice armor that you looted, and that armor wont ever see the light of day again.

".....isn't there is a reason we only want to have ONE blessed item on Siege?"

I suspect that this ONE blessed item on the players menu will go away some day.

The only reason to remove blessing is so that items can be looted. Thieves and
Pvpers do the looting on Siege Perilous.

The developers left a single Blessing ability while they are systematically removing
blessing on other items. I expect they will do this in steps.
After all Blessings are removed... then the Menu Siege Blessing will go!

If Blind Otto gets guardzones removed... that with this will give absolute
advantage to people who own houses.

I so want to have the means to burn down houses!!!

What I want, more than anything else, once this event is over, is for the guard zone to STAY TURNED OFF!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Consider this: The Magincia event on Siege originally had the guardzone turned on. Then someone messaged the devs asking if the gz could be turned off for Siege. The devs turned off the guardzone for Siege only.

Now that being said, do you honestly think the devs will remember to turn the guardzone back on when they rebuild Magincia or do whatever they are going to do with it? I can say with relative certainty that they will not remember.

This is probably the first time in the history of Siege that developers forgetting about us will be a good thing.
