I guess just can expect mass-whining whenever a correction is made to a skill to help game balance. Try to look at it objectively, for once:
Being able to use abilities without having the appropriate skill is unlogic. This is valid for all the skills out there. Examples:
* Spellweavers soulstoning off their skill to be able to cast a focus with people who have 0 Spellweaving, then soulstoning the skill back on.
* Necromancers putting on jewelry to cast a permanent (until death) buff on them, then taking off jewelry and still profit from the buff.
* Ninjas doing the same thing with animal form (which however is less useful, as animal form gives a lot of disadvantages).
The skill cap HAS A MEANING! It is meant to force you into making a decision for a certain skill, to learn to economize your skill points, to make up your mind about your template. Everything else I consider exploiting a flaw in the system.
Learn to live with the facts! Yesterday Spellweavers whined (for not being able to cast a level 1 focus anymore), today Necros whine, tomorrow Tamers will whine for their Greater Dragons being "nerfed". If you wouldn't have bent the game rules in the first place, the nerf wouldn't even affect you. I only use "honest" skill templates, and none of these nerfs will bother me. I am happy that these corrections are finally made.
FOLKS, THIS IS CALLED GAME BALANCING!
