Tips on raising Stealth 115-120?

Currently I think I am at my maximum wearable armor. I am wearing a closed helmet, a chainmail tunic, a platemail gorget, leather gloves, leather sleeves and leather pants. I have tried different variations of armor but I can't put on anymore than I have without getting the "too much armor" msg. I don't think anyway...

Outside of the monster trick that lowers your skill, anyone else got any advice? Currently my crystal ball of knowledge says my attempts are "Very easy".

Or do I have to gain the last 5 points very slowly?

doesn't trying to stealth while running incur a more difficult check?

Not even sure how you would do that since you have to hide first.

You hide, then stealth, and start moving.

When you are stealthing, there is a hide check and a stealth check every X number of steps you take while walking, half that number of steps if running.

I think it's one of the following: 8/4, 12/6 or 16/8 (been forever since I worked on my stealther - I gave up after 90 and tossed on +30 from gear). The skill / profession descriptions on the main UO Stratics page link (bottom, left column, expand to find stealth) should give the details.

So, whatever the number, as long as you're moving, every X amount of steps you walk (half that, running) incurs another hiding check and another stealth check, regardless of what the timers are on the skills. The only way to circumvent the skill timer is to move faster than the timer ticks down while stealthed, so you get more checks moving than standing still training.

no even at 120 you fail stealth check while running.. the only thing that more then 100 does is give you extra steps.. i think its even 80 or so you never fail stealth. not even sure above 100 makes you harder to discover.. seems my 120 stealther, 110+ the cloak gets discovered any time he stands near an elf, or anyone with tracking skill 100% of the time just the same as my stealther with only 90 skill, 80+cloak.

any reason you want to go 120?
