Ok i got like 60 fishing on my crafter, it stopped gaining years ago and i stoned it and havent been back on there ever since. Im thinking about gaining it on a character that can fight the things that he pulls up, since ive never been a GM fisher does anyone have some advice on this skill? From what I remember its alot of boring and tiresome work. I had even tried fishing out in the water 20 tiles away from shore and riding spinnas up and down the server line while casting out into the ocean.

get into the open sea and stay away from server lines. Those are treated like shallow water. Find the "sweet" spots. If you get a gain turn around. Get a gain turn around and farm that sweet spot. Keep a bottle of ale in your back pack for best results.

I did most of mine off the pier in Magencia it is in deep water. I used to just gate to it to get my rot gains.

You should be able to go into deep water and set your rod to ride a spinnaz and gain like crazy as you go round and round.

i forget what the exact number is but at some time around 60 you can start fishing 20 tiles out and you should gain it takes FOREVER but just set yourself on slow and fish until you hit 70
