Can anyone out there help me out with this beast. I hear he's easy, but I cant find a way to hurt him. I'm currently using my dashio for feint. But after I feint I just miss, miss, miss, miss. I have 50 HCI and using LS. I just don't get it.

How do you all take him down solo.

My template is a normal sampire
120 swords
120 parry
120 bushy
100 resist
100 tactics
99 necro
61 chiv

Putrifier is no joke...not sure who told you he was easy but they need their head examined. The Putrifier is one of the most aggresive 160's out there.:stretcher:

It's been awhile since I fought the Putrifier...when I did I cheated and brought my bard along and discorded him first.

My suit and weapons are better now than they were then with the introduction of Imbueing so I'm confident I would fair better against Putrifier. I've been meaning to go pay him a visit with my new attire and not bring my bard along as back up.

What kind of weapon are you using against the Putrifier? A 100% Physical Damage Daisho?

What you want is a 100% Energy Damage Demon Slayer. Or a mix of mostly energy damage and a little cold would work as well. I wouldn't go less than a 70/30.

This is why I don't advocate consecrate weapon because some 160's have insane HCI/DCI and you want to be healing, countering, or buffering and not casting something that you could otherwise get around if you have the right tool at your disposal. Every second counts...

What kind of damage are you dealing out to him? 40-50 points? 50-60 points damage?

At 20% Leech against some of the top 160's just isn't enough unless your dealing out insane amounts of damage and fast. If your not dealing large volumes of damage then alot of jousting might be required.

That's why I like having Spirit Speak. It's an ace in the whole you can play when you really need it.

The Putrifier poisons alot. How are you healing? Are you using confidence?

As great as a Daisho/feint is I would consider using a 1 handed weapon and using potions.

I did better against Rikktor with my Radiant Scimitar than I did with my Daisho spamming Feint. The radiant seemed just a split second faster and I was able to leech more often and drink the occasional potion when needed.

He's not easy, he's actually harder than Rend for me.

Personally use a demon double axe and Spirit Speak, but that's just because I don't want to craft a daisho for one monster that I almost never fight.
Definitely a pain without resist.

It is easy, just not with a warrior.

You can Discord it and Provoke the two Balrons in there on it, totally harm free way of doing it.

Or as a Necro/Mage you can bring it around to the other side of the wall where it spawns, Invis, run back around the side where it spawns, dropping an Energy Field to keep it there while you go in war mode and attack it so it follows you. Then move to the west side of the piece of rock in the middle of that area. From there you can move in and out of range of its spells 1 tile. Though its easiest if you summon two Earth Elementals and tell them to attack, it will refocus on those as they're the nearest agressor and you can then Energy Bolt it/Omen it to death with a Demon Slayer in Wraith Form. The occasional Arch Cure can be done between Energy Bolts before the first tick lands making it retarget again. The Parragon ones take a little longer but still no problem. When its dead pre cast Invis constantly and run around the other side (as you don't want to be popping out of Wraith Form or mounting up just as the new one spawns when you're on foot).

You could probably do the same with a Thrower/Archer and Invis items.

I find it pretty easy on my sampire, just need to make sure you have the right tool.

I use 100% energy daisho's - ML SL HLA Slayer DI,
Just keep faint up and the usual Honor/EoO/Pot before hand, i also have SS For CW and its a dodle.

Oh, and keep in mind "easy" is a subjective concept: it's an opinion. It has no objective meaning ... no meaning in-and-of itself but only has meaning as a relation to the difficulty of other tasks (which are likewise subjective).

Generally though, with sub-ideal equipment or template, Putrefier will be hard for melee fighters.

yeah i always bring a discorder with me also........he is by far the hardest in the game imo......he hits for a LOT!....besides the rare stuff like harbinger, I cant think of a beast that is harder.......it's easier if u take a weaving tamer with 120 vet and a super dragon, but it also takes longer than with a sampire...

I just went at Putfrifier with a 70% Energy/30% Cold and was able to drop him without any real problems. Same tactics as Thunderz suggested...Potions,EoO,Honor, and Curse Weapon.

I alternated between Counter Strike and LS with the occasional Confidence when he landed a big shot on me.

I've found Rend much harder to stand toe to toe with. Rend is an extremely formidable adversary as far as I'm concerned.

Might go try one more ML creature Abscess as I rarely travel to the Blighted Grove but I like what I read on UOGuide: "Abscess is one of the nastiest of the ML monsters. Do not attempt to melee this one you will leave as a ghost."

Always up for a challenge!

I used to be able to solo Abscess but that was back when I had 60ish extra skill points to work with. Of course it was also pre-imbuing, so with a better suit than mine it's still probably doable.

I used something like:

120 swords
120 bushido
120 tactics
120 anatomy
100 healing
65 chivalry
40 parrying
35 necromancy

High dex suit (I had 150+), I think only 10 HPI, 15 extra would probably help, almost 150 strength after potions, I think only 50 damage increase (talisman and essence of battle), and 45 DCI. My suit was not good then (it isn't now either, I've been away for a while, I pretty much quit playing after I hit 120 imbuing...)

Oh, and I used a Soul Seeker.

I'm pretty certain it would be doable now with a fairly similar template, but with 100 DI and a feint weapon. Leafblade if you can, so you can drink healing potions. Which reminds me, 25 EP on ring and on bracelet.

But like I said, I've been away for a while other than 1 or 2 Paroxymus solos and a few Dreads to test out a template.

I went into the Blighted Grove and let Abscess Breathe on me and I was expecting to get redlined but Abcess only took about 60% of my health. Too many other critters joined in so I decided to let it go but just looking at her statistics and it's breath I wasn't thnking Abcess was on the same level as Rend.UOguide made Abcess sound like the granddaddy of all ML monsters...

As far as Rend goes ...he's an absolute beast to stand to toe to toe with. Rend is the king of the Labyrinth and would absolutely trash Meraktus and the Tormented Minotaurs without a doubt.

Anyone who tries to tell me Rend is easy goes on my idiot list and whatever else they have to say about anything else means diddly squat to me because I know they are full of BS.

I had a far easier time with Putrifier than I did Rend. Rend to me is on the same level as those Daemonic Scouts we recently saw. Some Daemonic Scouts seemed tougher than others but there were some Guardians on Europa that slapped me silly. Rend has done the same to me many times when I try and stand my ground. Half the time I'm able to stand in with him and the other half I get some bad rolls and it's Sayonora.

Sure jousting Rend is easy and doable but standing in with him the entire duration is no small feat.
