Tips for Newb PvP and/or PK

OK. Maybe PvP or PK will be fun. How do I do it? Tips please. Is it better to start on wimpy miners and things to get used to it?

I will probably be a tamer as that is my strongest completest char. What are tips. Not cheats or anything. But general tips.

Good armor, a good template, lots of insurance money, good macros and an excellent weapon.
You just have to get in the fight and learn. Not everyones style is the same. You have to learn what works for you.

Dude best advice is, just get out there and fight. Start attacking people. You will see what works and what doesnt. Youll see what macros you need, youll learn peoples tactics...Your going to die ALOT. BUt every good pvpr does at first...gotta get over the hump of dying and just get out there and play.Its going to take you some time but you can do it....

Plan to die a lot. As you do, you will learn tactics for your template as well as how to apply those tactics against other templates. As was mentioned, get good armor/weaps and practice with guildies or friends 'till your comfortable with your macros. After that, just go fight. Trust me, you WILL get your a$$ handed to you a lot early on. Best advice I have, as I too am learning, is ignore the trash talking that will come with it and just keep playing. I play for fun, so I neither trash talk or pay attention when it's done to me. There are times you'll be frustrated, don't let the trash egg you on further. Use each death as a learning experience as well as each kill. Most of all, have fun...and keep insurance gold in the bank.

This statement right there should be the reason, PvPers and PKs come to Siege. None of that is "needed" to kill other players on Siege...just sayin...la

I was just going to say...Good "suits" shouldn't be a requirement to be good at PvP. But they are on trammel shards. Then again, it's increasing so on Siege too. Man, we don't need any more of these bs events. The moongalow event made Siege even more item-based with all these dang arties that are being run unblessed now. And the runic kit change was also a bad one. What ever happened to GM gear .

I need to stop posting. Every post I make makes me want to quit the game for good.

You know, maybe Siege is screwed. It seems every other change they make to the game, and Siege is unfortunately part of this UO game, hurts Siege. I think we need to scratch Siege completely, start a new shard and do it right, and then lock it in with no new changes to UO being patched to our new shard.

The best way is come up with a good archer suit a good xbow and make an archer template with 4/6 Chiv and you are set.

Plan to die a lot. The archers are by far one of the most powerful template that also requires the least amount of skill to play. Many trammies I know who never pvped before feel comfortable with an archer and actually started PvPing. I will recommand archer template to any players who have never PvPed before. The template is decent and easy to play (also thats why you see so many archers standing around fel gates nowdays).

The easiest tactics for you is to Concerete Weapon and use concussion shot, and if things dont go well (eg Missed or mage got off a good spell combo off) RUN AWAY RUN AWAY. Always try to remove curse the "Curse" and "Strangle" off first. If you do the hit and run tactics right, you should rarely die. Hope this helps you
