Well most every night at 6pm people gather at West Brit Bank - These gatherings were started to help new players get started in UO but any returning player with questions to ask couldn't pick a better place to go. If you don't get answers to all your questions you are sure to get most.

Well after finally giving up trying to retrieve old accounts and login info's to re-new for a month or two I've ended up on a trial just so I could pop back.

At brit bank now... I see it's still 'decorated'

And... no sign of a soul here, no change there then lol.

Shame to say tho, that the game is dying. Right now thers a festival going to spice things up abit. But when that's over and it turns back to normal, I wouldn't consider returning. Honestly and sadly.

I love the game, believe me, but its just not the same. And it is mostly deserted, and the only action going on is some lame sort of pvp and trash in general chat


When it comes to retrieving your old accounts, the login should basiccly just be:

username: youraccountname_uo
Password: What is used to be.

Popped in on a trial account but didn't really see anyone around to be honest.

Did the usual go to luna bank but even that looked quiet.

I've still got 13 days or so left on the trial so i'll maybe have a wander back in but from the quick running round I did it looked bleak.
Think at one place I could have probably thrown a keep or two down if I'd had the gold but thats all stuck with a main account I used to use along with all my main and characters.

The account management side... well that was just fun as well but to be fair it's been a few years so I half expected things not to be easy getting old accounts back. Got 'some' back but not my main account so I was a little disappointed with that, I've mail'd the support folks with as much info as I can give them, will see what happened but I'm not holding out for anything.

I'll stick with it until the trials over tho in the hope I can access my main account.

The places to look last night was The rares festival outside Umbra. E&A auction area. Red-ish gate next to Luna moongate. And bagball arena outside Luna. Earlier in the evening 7 to 8 CET it was the every day meet . Veterans meeting new and returning players and giving a hand with most things. Modern Brit Forge life you could say. Repairs and taking orders but mostly chatting and eating Pizza!
Try Brit bank at 7 and then the rares festival with games and something for everyone after that tonight. Welcome!

Certainly have to recommend Brit bank every day at 6pm for new/returnees - great conversation, tips and they'll get you equipt up, always welcome. It sounds however like your mind is made up though. Returning isn't for everyone.

The support folks managed to find my accounts so that's all fixed so... well done support folks.

My old house is long gone but I expected that... bummer tho, had a few things I'd have liked to keep but that's the way it goes I guess. Never mind placed my new keep \o/ yay.
So... what now lol. Went to dispise for a look see, totaly not what I expected. Shame looks ok, mud pies & bouncers ???... that's a new one lol. Other than that I keep getting lost, can't remember which way to go.

Couple quick questions...
Are there any map tools around like good awld UOAM or is that long gone now ?
How's vendor's these days ??? worth getting into ???
like the chat thing but... where is everyone ??? admit tho, it was early hours I was in.

uoam is still around, Kojak updated it. Download link in a sticky thread at the top of UHall
Vendors - who knows? We're waiting for the new vendor search to go live, see publish notes
chat - help chat is full of newbies and folk who are willing to take the time to help them, most notably Mim Foxglove who runs a new player house for new and returning players - you'll find that on the bank of the river one screen south of Trinsic Moongate. Also the 'home' of a rather annoying trial account bot trying to sell gold.
General chat is where everyone else hangs out, including the sewer mouthed, egocentric trash talkers.

*Are there any map tools around like good awld UOAM or is that long gone now ?

There's also UOCartographer (discontinued but still works) UOMapper (high cpu usage on some systems) and the Enhanced Client has an in built mapper, with marking features etc if you use the Pinco UI.

* How's vendor's these days ??? worth getting into ???

Likely to be very good once Vendor Search goes live next month, as you'll be able to host from your own home. There is still a huge value in rare items; there's an EM event at 8pm tonight, you'll see a lot of people there, but there's also the EA&A auctions on Wednesday evenings for trading individually.

General chat as Petra says. You start in Help by default, but few are there. Also people may simply be being quiet if you're in the right Global channel... speak yourself and you might get answers Ignore for the dumb stuff is under Options.
