There is a Quest in Magincia takes the threads as a turn-in and gives back "new" rubble items. See the yellow NPC at the moongate for info!
Yeah, the yellow NPC at the Magincia moongate has 3 quests (in Trammel.. I don't know about Felucca). Each quest requires different threads (Fate, Life, and Thought). And each quest can only be done once by the same character. All of the threads are obtainable in Magincia from the various souls in various ways. Kill the red ones, Spirit Speak with the yellow ones, and Exorcise the grey ones. Old threads can also be used.

They are also supposed to be useful (along with the cloaks... (of corruption?)) at some point in the future =)
Draconi's stated they'll be used to enhance Cloaks of Corruption.
Whether or not this'll pan out I don't know though....They've indicated that the Warriors of Destiny event cycle will be winding down before too long and a Stygian Abyss intro cycle will be starting up. Somehow I doubt the Cloaks' enhancement will fit in with the latter, and there appears to be limited time for the former.

Well that just sucks. I just tossed a bunch of threads out while moving last week. I kept my cloak (works great for working healing), but figured there was no longer much use for the threads since I had all the rubble I wanted, and then some.

Hahaha I feel your pain. A couple of days ago, I went to farm the threads of life that I was short on, (just in case the cloaks requires more threads than I anticipated). I lasted less than an hour after getting a dismal 5 threads...

I went to collect some threads the other day. I lost track of how many corrupted souls I killed. Didn't receive any threads and then the invading force decided to target me. I've all but given up trying and have been buying the rubble I want. Every time I go to Mag I get attacked by the invasion.
I farm threads on a sampire... and I use the invasion spawn to regen mana with mana leech weapons, so I can keep casting Exorcise. I tend to gather far more threads when there is an invasion there. I just pull a general or captain off to the side and whack him a few times between Exorcisms. I'll kill the red souls when I see them, and take a break every once in a while to Spirit Speak with the yellow ones.

Use a warrior to farm the corrupted souls for the fate threads if you aren't already. Tried and proven that direct damage gets you more threads. Earlier I said I got only 5 dismal threads of life, I forgot to add that at the same time I got 10+ threads of fate just from defending myself against the corrupted souls.

Maybe it's my bad luck. I use a Paladin to kill them. I receive plenty of threads using SS on those poor souls, but I kill a ton of the corrupted souls and am lucky to get 2-3 an hour when I bother playing that long.
