Thread on Threads NOT stacking, fix or work around????

Any chance we could get a small seems to be simple fix to get the threads stacked. I got a bag of each and in each are various stacks from 2 - 9 but i cannot get them to all stack together.

Or possibly does anyone know a trick to get them to all bunch together.

Would be nice with POTS, AIds, and other items that dont always seem to want to stack.

Bug report submitted, as i hope many of you also have.

It's because there are 10 different kinds of each thread - not all threads of life are equal.

Sorry, but the threads aren't meant to stack. They give different messages when double clicked with spirit speak. Therefore they are not all the same item code.

i have managed to get all the threads to stack in stacks varying from 3 threads up to 89. most stacks have 30 or more in them, only a few have less then 10

OK i just tried to check on all my threads of Fate (Only those havnt meesed with others).

I moved them to my pack dropping them on the pack, then counted resources using Assist and counted 48.

OK now I used the Assist organizer and moved them all to another bag.

I moved 49 Items and now have 46 items in the bag. That tells me there are 46 diffent items in the bag all labled threads of fate, all with the SAME Item tag that allowed UO Assist to identify them and move them.

SOOOO Why dont they stack.

And ALOT of them are single items, not stacked at all.

I dont see who using Spirit speak would itemtify the items, when using an item ID wand they are all the same, as well as item ID skill.

I have found that threads even having the same speech will sometimes not stack.... the threads from Moonglow do not seem to stack with the new ones, and sometimes the new ones (with the same saying) will sometimes stack and sometimes not.... and I'm very sure of this since I have them all separated by saying and was hoping to save a bunch of lockdowns because "yippeee, they stack!" ........ uh, nope, not always

Check if ones that have been identified with spirit speak will stack with ones that haven't?

(take a fair of freshly retrieved ones that do stack, ID one, then try to stack it back?)

ugh.... do I really wanna do that?

and they sometimes stack while collecting them, which would mean that it's safer not to read them....?

Ok i kinda understand the thread issues
this one says this and the other says that.

But whats the problem with my grapes?
I made 1000 grapes from the same alchemist
with the same stack of pots and grapes
and I ended up with 2 stacks right off
that would not stack together and still wont.
Whats up with that?
Ive got arcance jems that wont stack?
What? are they saying different things too :coco:

kay, read or unread does seem to matter with the threads, if they didn't stack from the get-go then they're not gonna stack at all

was hoping it would be like my serpent scales... while fishing sometimes they won't stack, but then eventually they do.... don't have that with the threads, tho

come to think of it, haven't been fishing in a while... hope that isn't messed up, too

I can't tell you exactly, but let's just say that when the game looks at an item to see if it stacks with another item, it checks if they're the same. But in addition to the name and graphic we can see, there are also hidden properties, like whether or not its been item-IDed. These hidden properties can cause the game to think they are different enough no not stack them.

Also, often when they add the ability for items to be stacked, something subtly changes and the old items will not stack with the new ones.

(disclaimer: this is all based on theory and observation)
