Thread etiquette - marking sold items?

Hi, what should I do if i've posted an item for sale and it sells...how do i mark the thread as 'sold' or do i close thread or...?

Personally I hate seeing when people delete the contents of threads when they are selling stuff. I've had to dig through more than a few old posts digging up info on rare items, and blanked posts are useless for any future use.

You can reply sold (like you did), you can edit the original post, you can edit the title to say Sold. You can edit the type of thread to say sold.

The Mods do not delete threads they do not close auction threads.

The thread just has to drift away.

When you edit the post, you should be able to edit the title to sold. If you leave the rest, others can see what it sold for when purchasing or selling that item or something similar.
