Thoughts on this template? (Taming/Disco/Weaver)

Just returned and decided to try out spellweaving with my tamer.

110 Taming
110 Animal Lore
110 Magery
120 Mediation
120 Disco
120 Music
120 Spellweaving

Am I stretching myself too thin? Also, when I first tried spellweaving a long time ago, you can summon an arcane focus without any other spellweavers - any way to still do that?

Spellweaving is a wonderful pvm skill, it has just this little problem called "arcane focus", an elven word for "pain in the a@@".

Anyway the skills you choosed sounds like a lot of run. Remember that you can ress your pet using an elixir of rebirth: having no veterinary it might be wise to acquire a couple of them (crafted by alchemists using medusa's blood). You can also try a npc veterinary but you have to wait like one thousands years before they kicks in.

If it was me, I'd consider that to be a fun second tamer template, but yes, maybe stretched a bit thin if you lose the option to vet. I know mage healing is all the rage on tamers, but personally, being able to rez my pet mid fight for the cost of a bandage, justifies the skill.

Having said that, what I'd do is use that template, but keep vet and provo trained up on soulstones. Because you could easily switch out your med and spellweaving for vet and provo to make a template that works with your existing skills. You'd then be able to provo as well as disco the spawn around your pet, and you'd get back the convenience of vetting. It's also quite a fun template, once you bore yourself silly training the bard skills.

A bit of shuffling of skills and you could make a spellweaving disco/voke bard/tamer without vet - though spellweaving without med will be hard, you could always build a mana suit up - low mana cost/regen etc etc. Use disco and provo to reduce the damage hitting your pet, or better still team up with another tamer, their pet tanking while you toss yours in and bard the spawn.

(and before anyone says it, yes, I like silly bard tamer templates too much) :D

Nope, sadly. I keep saying they need to put some hireable skilled weavers in the game. I would hate to see how difficult it is getting a level 6 focus on some of the unpopulated shards.

I agree with Wenchkin tho. I would drop the Med and toss on Vet. With imbuing it's easy to get enough MR to where you will hardly ever need to actually meditate. To each their own tho.

I actually run a similar template

120 taming
105 lore
95 vet
110 music
110 peace
100 weave (though I want to raise this)
92 magery (min or higher if can get)

I used to use this with my bardic husband and we'd duo melisande and we'd run rikktor champ, Mind Blast doesn't need eval and is best spell against rikktor. I'd WoD melisande but otherwise I don't really use the spellweaving much for fighting mostly perhaps because of lack of arcane focus. Though it seems much easier to get the focus now with global chat then it used to be.

What I do use all the time and love is "gift of life" which I constantly keep up on me while fighting. Even with no focus the spell lasts for quite a while. I mage heal my pet if I need to but mostly I just vet and direct pets and use magery for travel, invis, and heals. I do have like an MR12 suit with LMC 40 and LRC 100. I had no trouble constantly WoDing melisande although I fizzled a lot at only 100 so if I raised it to fizzle less I might have more issues. I definitely have no trouble GHeal on pet constantly if need be. "Gift of renewal" is also a great one if your pet is taking a lot of damage. It just takes a long time to cast. So throw it on early.

I have peace instead of disco because with my playstyle I'm more worried about staying alive then dropping stuff fast. I seem to always get into tight binds and area peace has saved my life many a time. Also peacing a creature helps me not need to vet as often so I can spend time looting or something else.
