So i went to the jhelom pits to gain parry with a dagger(im a swordsman) and about 10 bucklers. I let them whack on me for a good 2 hrs. and I gained .2 Can anyone tell me some tips and tricks that are FOR SURE that work and have used it recently to help me gain

Im pretty sure youre not supposed to be holding a weapon. Also, you only hire female fighters so they dont do damage. The more you have on you the faster you will gain.

also no armor and if you have Bushido then you will need to use a 2 handed weapon to gain after a certain point chiv is the one that requires a shield you get a penalty for a shield with bushido

Just learned this one the other day from someone who is exceptional at training:

find a bunch of hinds and attack them all and go out of war mode. Carry plenty of bucklers, and a weapon that does NOT check your highest weapon skill (so for a fencer use a cleaver, for a swordsman use a dagger), wear high armour, let the hinds hit you and you'll gain parry like mad. Carry plenty of bucklers, 10 should be enough. Carry plenty of bandages as the multiple hinds hitting you will eventually wear your health down.

Just buy the dagger/cleaver from an NPC as you don't want the higher damage from an exceptionally made one, you just want to gain parry. The dagger/cleaver won't take damage as you're rarely hitting with it.

well since i have bushido i cant use a shield or else it lowers my parry chance to 5% so maby i should just carry a bunch of pitchforks

i did on my warrior with bushido to train parry up to 120 with sheep.
find some self repair armor, i used virtue armor, and a 2 handed wep that has self repair and just sit and get hit.
it goes up quick. gm about an hour and 120 in 3.
you have to get hit to raise parry skill thats why you need a wep that you have 0 skill in.. dont forget to tab out so you dont kill the sheep

no shields if you have bushido as you fail the parry check each time. no parry check no skill increase.

The previous poster has it pretty much right. I would change/add a couple things. First you dont have to have bushido for this to work. Second dont wear anything. I dont care if its insured or blessed or self repair. Either way it adds physical resist. So go naked. A robe is ok so you hide the ugly naked body. Now get a 2handed weapon that uses a different combat skill than you use. Personally i just buy cheap ones from a npc to use. Self repair weapon works as well. How you are gonna heal yourself? If you use healing skills just bring a bunch of aids. If you are gonna use magic to heal I would put on protection and carry alot of healing regs. Now get like 6 to 8 sheep. Use sheep as they dont do too much damage and you get the same result. Attack them all from a distance then tab out. But still hold weapon. Let them beat on you and you will gain. If you dont gain then your doing it wrong. If you need help i can show you on any shard. Just pm me here. Now pay attention to the screen. Even though they are sheep they can and will kill you if your not paying attention.

Not sure what benefit being armorless will hold, parry gains shouldn't be about how much damage you take just if you get hit. I have GMed on two chars wearing virtue armor suit and self repair shield. Also if you fight something with higher wrestling, they will hit more often and thus you will gain faster. I also like to train it on a ninja char and go to dog form. Then I can work a secondary skill without worrying about taking damage, so can work chiv, bushido or ninja. Or pick a fight with the orcs outside the orc caves and get an orc mage in the mix and can work parry and magic resist. (or for that matter pick a fight with the spellbinders in New Haven and train parry and resist at same time) But I always used orcs, virtue armor, dog form and plenty of bandages in case start taking too much damage. As for weapons, used a self repair shield and either no weapon or weapon for different skill.

So, while i have a hard time believing wearing a robe only is better for skill gains, do agree need to make sure to have no DCI on your suit.

I always train my parry at the sheep pens in Yew. Just attack all the sheep and tab out. I used bucklers to train. Just need a way to heal every once in a while.

If you use this method you'll need to soul stone bushido while your using the shields.

Here's my favorite method: You'll need 2-3 friends/guildmates (templates working healing are good here) and a lot of bandages. (can work healing here as well)

I work parry by going to Ice Island, just outside Deciet, and attack polar bears. You'll need armor with 70 physical resist (polar bears do hit fast and fairly hard if not protected). Attack as many as you can find and tab out so you stop attacking them. You can have a friend lead more bears to you if your not taking too much damage. Have your friends that are healing stand on top of you and heal. The polar bears swing faster then sheep and you'll gain steadily. Keep a buckler in your hand (no specials on your armor or bucklers) they will break after a while. I like to have one mage in the group standing by with a greater heal when needed.

I've used this method to help several friends work parry all the way to 120. Usually takes only a couple of hours at most.

Wanna take Parry to legendary in around 3 hours?

1) Repair all your armor and make sure you have no DCI on any of it (including your weapon). Pieces with HP Regen are highly desirable.
2) Arm yourself with a weapon you have no skill in. Lock that skill or point it down.
3) DO NOT use a shield unless you have Bushido.
4) Go to the Animal pen on the island just north of Jhelom.
5) Agro all the rabbits and sheep. Let them chase you around until all 8 are running after you.
6) Toggle into peace mode in the middle of the pen, so you are completely surrounded by the 8 animals.
7) Watch the gains come. You may need to heal every once in awhile if you don't have HP Regen armor/jewelry on.

The point of this method is to get hit as much as possible. That is why you want no DCI or weapon skill. You don't want a shield (unless you have Bushido) because it is harder to parry with just a weapon. Since gaining in parry is difficulty based, you want to make it as hard as possible.

This works. I have gained 15.4 points in less than an hour and I started at 77. One thing that might not be obivious to all is you can't be on a mount. I used a fireworks wand, did real well and I also found I had to be in war mode,so tab out so you don't kill them, then tab back in.

Sure you can. I used this exact method and was sitting on an armored swamp dragon while I did it.

If you are in War Mode, you are more likely to accidentally kill the creatures. It works better in Peace mode.

Was in war mode and using a fireworks wand, maybe that made the difference, but I didn't kill anything. I was in war mode, rounded up all the little critters, tabbed out while they came to me, then back in and didn't kill a one and got mad gains. Will GM tonight I think!! :)

Just did parry from 100.1 to 110 using this method. Did it at Yew farm but shouldnt make any difference.

Thing I noticed is using a 2 handed weapon seems to work best. Im a swordsman and equipped a normal spear with 8 sheeps attacking me. Make sure to lock or point fencing down. Works like a wonder

1-handed or 2-handed doesn't make a difference unless you have Bushido...then you definitely want a 1-handed weapon since it is harder to parry with a 1-handed weapon when you have Bushido.
