That is standard procedure for customer service to stop responding if the issue has been resolved to the best of their ability. Without knowing what the issue is, there is no way to know if it was bad service on their part.

That is a setback for you. But something else is hidden:
1) How did you get the "hidden comment"?
2) What are the deal with "numerous times" responses?

By hidden i mean this: usually whenever the custommer "support"-team updates a ticket an email was sent.

This time no email was sent.

The ticket even does not show up on "My questions" in support.ea.com

By having an old email, which i had to watch the sourcecode to get the URL to the ticket, i was able to see this comment.

Do you know if anyone who's account was banned knows specifically what items caused the ban? Maybe it's not just you, maybe they aren't telling anyone. However, if customer service let other banned players know, but won't tell you, then that's highly unfair. At any rate, sorry for your terrible ordeal.

What was it that Jeremy said? “The willingness of people to take secondhand protestations of innocence at face value appalls me.” (http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?p=779597#post779597 )

The last week has been like watching a "Cops in LA" show. The bad guys start with professions of innocence, and then slowly the story unwinds until they admit to guilt.

And the drama queens! Three days posting about how someone is closing their account, oh the horror! And now we get treated to stories of their new game...like we care.

The cheaters got busted, the cheaters came to these boards to try and smear EA's name to get back at EA. And sadly some folks fell for it.

What's so difficult to understand?

"This player has been responded to numerous times." Numerous, as in a large number. This tells me that they've corresponded to you many times, something that certainly hasn't been implied by your constant pleas for attention on these forums.

"No further replies will be ackowledged." Whatever they have said to you in their previous correspondences is all the information you are going to get, like it or not.

"Any issues in regards to their termed account should be closed with no response." If you haven't gotten their point by now, there's not much hope that you will ever get their point, and they are done wasting their breath in the matter.

As JC the Builder said, they have decided that they have done enough from their end to consider the manner closed. They have moved on, and whether or not you are satisfied with their response, it would probably be in your best interest to move on as well.

So basically you're saying that their response system isn't very secure either and you exploited that?

Certianly what it sounds like.

Another bye? Can this please be the last one? You may be innocent but with all the other "I did nothing!" cries I don't believe it at all.

Shelleybean, Jeremy already stated that somewhere around 30 duped items is where they start to consider banning you. All the innocently banned implied they didn't have enough stuff on their accounts to reach that. One of these guys had 150+ duped items on their account according to Jeremy. Given what little we know there is only two conclusions. These people are guilty and they know what exactly what it was, or EA/Mythic is randomly banning people for no reason what-so-ever. There are two reasons I can think of why they might have been innocent, but almost all of the innocently banned indirectly said that wasn't it.

Actually, EA smeared it's own name by handling the PR-affecting aspects of what they did recklessly.

When I see how they are treating the people who are making these queries, it is only demonstrating for me how they would treat me too, even if I hadn't done anything to deserve it and they had been the ones to made a mistake.

The FOF was kinda like icing on the cake.

Basically this recent rash of bannings took out all the middle men who buy and sell the dupes from the dupers. It sucks, as I imagine many of those middlemen did so unwittingly while others likely did so very knowingly.

Actually, EA has redeemed itself for finally hitting the middlemen who are doing massive damage recklessly spreading the stuff around as if it wasn't a problem.

Yeah... No reason to dupe if nobody buys. That's the best way to knock out the dupers, considering they can just pop right back up.

You Really have NO idea on how it was handled other than what some cheat/ duping/scripting gold seller/ trader has told you. In any business this is how cheating, theft... exploitation (take your pick) is taken care of..We were lucky to get any word on the matter at all. Welcome to the world of responsibility.

Unfair is it? To whom? The Vocal cheater?:next:

Make ur own thoughts on this
I have the oldest UO account since I activated it the first day UO opened. My thought on the banning is that anyone getting banned is most likely guilty because either they buy too many or they resold the items for profits. I have bought lots of rares from vendors. I bought 2 valorate hammers and 2 verites hammers when they were flooding the vendors. My only principle is that I will never buy the same item more than 2. The only exception is that I bought 20 barbed kits and put them in the same bag in that I have already 8. Since I bought all my stuffs from vendors or got from delivery after I paid cash (except one or two doom artifact I earned myself), I will say that EA is very generous as they try not to ban anyone unless they are pretty sure. I think they stick to their words-- the policy they often repeated when this matter is asked, "If you don't have three or more on the same item, you are safe."

From a programmer's view, it is too time consuming to match any item ID to all items in the same shard. But it is doable to scan account by account to find out if there are items with the same ID on the same account.

I hope people just relax. EA is very careful and knows what they are doing.

You ran an auction site? And you still claim you have no idea how you ended up banned? Obviously you did auctions for the wrong people, dude.

Probably had a huge stash of items sitting around waiting to be sold from people on the account that got banned, didn't you?

Unlikely.
Ingameauctions was like UO-Auction.
Users sign up, and put up auctions for stuff they possess. Others bid, and the seller contacts the winner, when it's all over.

Zof might have unknowingly acted as broker, for some items of this type. But logic would suggest that the seller wants the gold, and the buyer wants the item, so none of it's going to sit around very long.

Erm. Sorry to bust your bubble but view source is not an exploit. At the top of IE, click view, on the drop down menu, click source. Most browsers have the option to view the source of a webpage. If EA decides to try to "hide" messages in their source, its their fault.

Most likely it was only intended to be seen from the technicians side of the trouble ticket but since they developed the message into the source code, it can be seen by anyone clever enough to snoop around.

I was thinking that too. People will be more careful who they buy from, when they know they risk their account buying illegal items.

If the dupers can't sell, they will give up.

Stratics can we please move all this "I'm so innocent" postes to somewhere, SnR or a Cry forum and warn them not to start more threads on U_Hall
