Thinking of returning

I have been debating on returning to UO after closing all my accounts back in 2007 just as they were releasing the 3D client, which I assume is now the Enhanced Client. I've been game hopping the last 5 years playing WoW, EVE, Warhammer, Rift, Darkfall, and a few others I can't remember. Getting tired of the level grind all these game have which is something UO never had, hence my thoughts of returning. I reactivated my main acct and I just started my 14 free return days.

I did d/l the classic client and go through the shards to see what chars I had and what shards they are on. I have developed chars on Catskills, Lake Superior, and Siege. My last few years of playing was all on SP.

Anyway, I'm sure the population has dropped off so just wondering what are the "busy" shards now? Is SP still viable or could I run around for days and not see a single person. I PvP'd from when I started playing back in '98. Is there any pvp/factions on the tram servers or would I better off just going back to SP?

Sorry if I'm asking alot of questions for an old vet player, but that's what happens you leave for 5 years :)

Atlantic is a pretty busy server. Seems like a lot of people transferred there. Seems like now is a great time to come back, I look forward to good things to happen for UO in 2012. A lot of older players are returning to see what's up, which is good. The Event Moderators seem to be running good events. In my opinion, I know there for a while UO went downhill (like around 2007) but seems like it has crawled out of its pit of woe and redeemed itself a little bit. Well, maybe not with High Seas, but still. I think High Seas wasn't as popular as they thought it was going to be. Doesn't seem to be a fan favorite. I have yet to mess around with it much, so not really sure what to think about it atm.

There are a few more servers that seem rather busy other than Atlantic though too. But Atlantic seems the busiest.
