Cross posted from my thread in Test Center forums. Wanted to know what Uhall thought:

1) Darkglow and parasitic are not functioning properly. Possibly never have.

There is absolutely no reason to use darkglow. You can only bump it up to deadly poison. It is supposed to deal extra damage if you are more than one tile from your enemy. It really does not. you deal a basic roll for dp each time almost regardless of distance. Every once in a while you will get maybe a 13dmg or the original tick (also regardless of range) but it will immediately decrease. Since parasitic poison can inflict lethal poison (thus deal an overal higher amount of dmg than darkglow regardless of distance), and heal you up to 50 hp on a tick, there is no reason to use darkglow.

2) Please dear god fix this one:

Say for instance you poison something and switch targets, every time your poison ticks, regardless of legacy targeting system or the new one, you will lose focus of whatever you have most recently targeted. This is insane. We all know how important it is to poison a factioners horse before you start stabbing them to death. I cant be losing focus on the guy running around everytime my poison ticks on his horse. This goes for several situations in pvp and pvp. its just not good. The health bar I dbl click on should be the one i'm fighting from now on. Conflags are also bothersome.

3) Ever thought of letting max dex weapon skill and restorations of large amounts of health affect stamina replenishment? Heavy blows take down stamina easily, while large increases do not. and there are very few ways to manage stamina increase among stats.

3 is not so important. the others i feel are.

you think that's bad? if they're blue they need only escape to a guard zone and you get guardwhacked on the next poison tick, each one counts as a new attack. It also reveals you on EVERY poison tick if you're stealth. The poison ticks really need to stop counting as new attacks, especially since it screws with targeting and flagging.

Both of those alternatives to Deadly are so badly implemented, my Noxxer developed allergies. Used each only once, got PwNt, too easily Cured.. Didn't notice any difference other than that in fact. :mf_prop:

considering my red isn't a caster, and the only pvp mage type I've ever used is a nox mag, no,, can't say i have, care to enlighten where you're going with that? does it not flag you on every tick? If so that proves to me that they already have code in place to do timed damage that doesn't re-flag you, and they should replace the poison damage code with the strangle code.

Were you expecting to be able to cast poison on someone and watch them go from 150 to 0 health in 5 seconds?

Well darkglow cannot be bumped to lethal, only deadly. Parasitic can be bumped to lethal. which means para will deal more than dark even while darkglow's intended effect of extra damage based on distance is occurring. Darkglow is worthless.

You assumed too much. All I said was that these 2 types of Poison are very badly implemented. Ridiculous really. By the way, last I checked it is impossible to Cast Parasitic or DarkGlow.. They must both be applied to a Weapon, like a Kryss. Which is an Item. In "Ultima Online".. Just saying in case you haven't a clue.

Cear : Still, Parasitic will deal only as much as simple Deadly Poison boosted to Lethal. I think. And even if it DID work, don't you have to be standing next to a target to Heal through it? When and for how long does that ever happen, really? :thumbdown:

Your post wasn't much about Darkglow/Parasitic.

Poisoning is powerful in open field settings now on a dexxer, and quite so on a mage in a grinder. Just look at the templates on test right now, by top players poisoning is represented exceptionally high.

It doesn't mean you can't cure it completely, it's one skill you can put 80-100 points in. You're not going to instapwn someone. It's SUPPOSED to be able to be cured, it's just supposed to be a little harder.

In pvm? Constantly. In pvp, yeah i hear ya. maybe more after these changes.
Are you saying deadly boosted to lethal is not as strong as lethal? Parasitic will always deal more than darkglow, even darglow when you are far from your target.

Never tried the potions but for #2, u ever try setting a macro for 'attack last' ? So long as u've clicked their bar and started combat on them AFTER noxing the mount, just jam on that macro and u should never get interrupted by a poison tick again.

As for poison ticks/strangle ticks - they work EXACTLY how they should. Its an aggro action just like bleed and if u've hit someone w/ it then u should get flagged aggro for each tick. Strangle has been used for years now to keep stealthers from smoke bombing and slinking off in the dark, same with poison. Next we're gonna hear someone upset cause revenants reveal sometimes...... NO FAIR !

As for someone running into GZ to kill u for that bleed/strangle/poison tick, thats ur fault for letting them get away :)

Acid each time the poison ticks it counts as a new attack.. therefore over riding the last attack macro, because according to UO the poisons tick is a new attack.

my complaint wasn't about the damage from the attack revealing, it's from that if after you've attacked, they run into the GZ and you get whacked though you haven't attacked since then.

Not sure what you are trying to get at here, I mean it does not address any of the complaints. the complaint is that when it ticks you change to that target, we are not complaining that it causes an aggro against that opponent, just that we have changed focus and when it ticks it changes the focus back despite us not wanting to. In the example of the mount, assuming faction mounts, lets say you poison it, then turn your direction to the person and poison ticks then you kill the mount unintentionally thus allowing them the ability to rez the pet and remount. The intended result was to poison it, then attack the person, and re-poison the mount as needed up until the person dies (in the best case, of course worst case is you kill the mount and they rez it and run off...but still would have been a much longer fight instead of the original example where you kill it after 1 poison tick due to the refocus.)

The guard zone thing...I dunno, if you attacked a blue anywhere near a guard zone, then I dunno what to say about that.
